howdy Pards,
Someday, and I do mean maybe someday, I would like to take my 51's Nany US Marshalls  44 cal's and make them cartidge shooters, and of course, I would have to have the ones that uses a gate! All I know is, there is 2 compaines that make conversion cylinders. But I don't know if they make them for the 51's? I have seen the reprocudtions 51's cartidge convert by Uberti.
If any one can give me any imformation on the do's and do nots. If anyone has a pic of one they have done, I would like to see it, and if you could tell me what cylinders you used, I would be great full!

Ace   How goes it ,long winter,Ive got two,one Marshal and one blued 7 1/2" .Not gated conversions,R&Ds,before Kirst came out with his gated conversions, wished I had the Kirst s. None the less they are great shooters,as far as I know Walt Kirst is the only one with a gated conversion, that you can acually purchase.Ya I tried to get a R&D gated conversion but was told at the time, they arnt ready yet, that was over a year and a half ago. With the addition of the Kirst ,I dont care if the other one is ever ready period. Just picked up a engraved brass and nickled cyl.  and barrel, gonna have both the 5" barrel and a 7 1/2" for the marshal.Gonna use the internals for spares and have a fancy engraved frame as a paperweight.   Good Luck in the quest     Adios  Sgt.Jake

Howdy Jake,
Is that frame bad? Is it brass or steel? I got that brass frame that I fixed, and it is fine, but I have been looking for a frame for it? Just a completly stripped frame, If you run acrossed one, and it is cheap let me know! I found a guy that has a lot of cyclinders, but no other parts. If I though I could stand up long enough, I would buy a pair of cyl., and chuck one of them in my Lathe and turn it down to the lugs, then turn it down and back, so I would have enough lenght to mill the cartidge lips, And then, buy some cold rolled  steel rod the right size or close and tiurn it down and make my own gate conversions ???
Let me know if you fins a cheap frame!

Ace    I havnt recived it yet,I expect it will be a serivicable part,as the gun was used as a wall hanger, new ,never fired. When it arives I will let you know, its suposed to be a engraved brass frame Navy.I think I have your phone number somewheres about,I know I have your e mail add,for shure. The price will be right, just pay the mailing and shes yours,I really dont need a shiney, engraved paper weight.Heck havnt hardly got room on my desk now as it is.   Edit   You wouldnt want the nickled cyl. also 44 cal.   Adios  Sgt.Jake
