Howdy.

I wondering if any of you have any info aginst a revolver type with name Avenging Angel.

The gun is a percussion revolver a Colt 1860 cal.44 Army with shortend barrel to 3-4" and Thunderer lookalike grip,Have you seen this type of gun before,I read a story about Dealing Bottom Mike and he was building him a avenging angel revolver but I think he use the birdshead grip instead of the Thunderer grip,I have not seen any picture of his gun so far.
I would think to build me a copy of that revolver.
Can you help me with this and this type of guns are maybe not qualify too shoot in Cas,but I like the shape of the gun and want me one to have on the wall inside my gunroom.
Best regards.

You need to get in touch with Trail Creek Jim in Sweden,
he have built some like that and he have plenty information on them to.
That type of gun would be considered a main match gun due to its
full sized frame. Got one my self and im making a sholder holster for it.
PM me if you dont have TCJ,s email

This type of shooter has been linked to the Danites, as well as such notable characters as Charles Hume (Wells Fargo Agent-man who caught 'Black Bart').  A 'correct one will not have the 'Thunderer' style grip, as this is pure 20th century fabrication, the real examples of these type Colt's all have their original grip frames.

This is a 'fantasy' game, so you can do what pleases you, just don't get to thinking that a Thrunderer grip is correct on an open top style Colt. ;)
Well..........Bye!

Kenny Howell has an authentic one that he picked up years ago in Utah. What's kind of neat is the rammer area is plugged....with wood! Over the years, oil and fouling have made this appear to be ebony, but he checked it form the back side and found it to be plain old everyday wood. It is shaped and flows with the barrel.

I'm thinking (a dangerous thing for me) of making one, but making it a cartridge variation once our 1860 kits are out. Should be a rip snorter in 45 Colt, and one heck of a fun gun to boot!
Well..........Bye!

I know this is an old topic,  But I just picked up one of these made by Pietta (for Cabela's) on Saturday.

Very nice piece of work,  But I did have to swap the 1860 grip for a 1851 grip; The shorter 1851 grip maked the pistol feel much better.

I will also be putting in the gated conversion once it becomes available!

*EDIT*  Here is a pic of it, with the 1851 installed.

Feel free to dig up any old post that you want.  What's old to some will be something new to others.  Welcome to CASCity too!!!

I built one of these using and Piettta 1862 Police.  The Thunder grip frame fits up with only minor fitting adjustments.  Points like a dream! :)

Pards, Cabelas sells both the 1860 Army Snubnose in .44 for $169.99, and the 1862 Police snubnose in .36 for $159.99. They also sell both a left hand and right hand plain leather holster for these guns for $15.99.

I'm not really into C&B for CAS anymore, but I would think they'd have real style points.
