Hey PUK,
They look worse than the pretty pastel colours they were producing the action pistol 'race guns' in,in the middle '90's.
Whats wrong with Blue, Black, Nickel, Stainless or 'Antiqued' ?
But having said that, if we could have them over here in Blighty, I would gladly put up with whatever colour they insisted on!

I never get excited about a gun till they are really for sale.   ;)

I would submit that those are some of those new miracle finishes that will keep the gun from rusting while being shot with fake black powder in a heavy downpour of salt water during a volcanic eruption while being run over by a logging truck. The colors (or colours for you Brits and Irish) are just part of it.

Me? I like blue and case hardened. Or stainless. Those guns remind me of that time I was walking behind an extremely fat girl who was wearing spandex pants.

Blackpowder Burn

While they look strange and untraditional to us cowboy types, I submit that they are aimed at the larger market of folks who shoot more modern guns.  I think these are intended for the handgun hunter - look at the new magnum cartridges they are chambered for.

While I don't intend to purchase one, I hope USFA is very succesful with them.  Anything that expands their market makes them a stronger company, and better able to support all of our needs and wants.

I think that will go down in the history of USFA as a BIG marketing mistake.  Aggie said, and correctly IMHO, that it is aimed at the more modern hunter crowd.

But I doubt it'll catch on like they want.

My biggest question is why put out this set of coloured guns to a VERY limited audience when there are probably TWICE [or more] as many potential 1858/63 -1875 Remington buyers?

Again - I guess I shouldn't worry about it ... unless I win the Lottery, I won't be buying any new guns in the future, anyway!
:(

Heck - I wish they'd resurrect some of the guns they put out when they were a new company!  Some of them, like the 1860 C&B Colt, look very intriguing.

I wish them well.  They ARE, after all, producing some fine guns - and here in the good ol' US of A, unlike so many companies.

You can bet that the guy who came up with this idea is not even close to anything that says antique. I bet his home is full of ultra modern metal furniture and such. No deep soft leather sofa's hard wood floors or wood burning fireplace. A person who likes the old would never do this to a 1873!!!

The Elderly Kid

Reminds me of those wierd pastel-colored revolvers High Standard (I think it was) brought out in the late 50s. Supposed to appeal to "the ladies." They looked strange even to my pe-pubescent eyes and so do these.
