Stopped by the local Sportsmans Warehouse a couple of days ago. Noticed a 'antiqued' SxS in the rack and asked to see it. Sure nuff it was a TTN that had been stripped to almost bare metal with some aged blueing left here and there. The salesman said it was a new gun from the factory. Hadn't heard of TTN doing this but it sure did look good! Thinking about stripping mine down it looked so good.

Anybody else seen one or heard of this 'factory antiqued TTN?

Don't underestimate me. I know more than I say, think more than I speak, & notice more than you realize.

Looked at one at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Lexington, KY last Wednesday.  Like you, I thought it was a nice looking coachgun.  If I had bought one back in the 1880's however, it would not have looked like that.  Even if I had used it to kill snakes in the rocks.  Was good looking but I'm still waiting for one with longer barrels. :o

Understand Cimarron bought out TTn, and they offer Original Finish" (AKA Antique Finish) on most of their offerings.

For a while, TTn offered True case colors as an option.

Cimarron offers a US Finish on revolvers, which includes Bone CH colors , and rich blue for a fee
and I suppose Cimarron could offer Engraving if you so desired and these could be applied to your new SXS.
