cowboy, this isn't where I wanted to send you, but I think you can get all the info on this page http://www.sewingwitch.com/sewing/sewhot.html

I just got to ask, where did you come up with that old singer with the walking foot? I had a commercail Cival War Singer Treadle head given to me and a clutch drive motor, it was in New Jersey, my Aunt & Uncle were with in 3 hours drive of it all last summer and it was to far for them to drive to get it for me! All I want one for is for sewing the tops and bottoms of belts!
I hope this helps! I think you can find the link in there to get you a manual, I had a site book marked that had all the commercial singer manuals on it!
Hopes this helps!

Thank you Ace for the link
Well the story behind that machine is its an old family friends that passed away and he gave it to us years ago when i was trying to make chaps for rodeo but no one could remember how to thread it and now that i have a house to put it in im gonna take it and clean it up and use it for small things  just need a manual LOL

You know, you might look through the phone books around you and look at the sewing machine repair, someone might be familiar with the singers,  or know someone who has retired that might be able to give you some good information.

when I was a kid, my grandmother had an old tredle pump singer that had been her mothers, she used it on heavy quilts,  she had trouble seeing to  thread the machine, so she taught me how to thread it up,  bet I still could  ;D  but ya got to get everything in the right place.
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else

Cowboy,

Do a search for the Singer 31-15.  there are several parts books on-line that can be down loaded.  Also, manual copies are available
