Looks like I'll be shooting a pair of Patersons on occasion in SASS  events this year. I bought this pair of Pats at an auction yesterday. One was made in '91 and the other in '94. One has alot of honest wear from shooting and the other hasn't been fired. Any one ever see a barrel marked like this? They are both Uberties by the way. There was also a cased '61 navy in the lot. Uberti, made in '71 and very smooth action and finish. never been fired either. Has silver plated backstrap and guard too!

Pattersons are cool.  Two is way cool!

I forget, do those have a little button on the rear of the cylinder that lets you rest the hammer between chambers?

Not like those guns fire FCK...>whisper mode< they don't have triggers ;)

Good luck capping them on the clock, no capping cutout, it has to be taken apart to cap.

Anytime i see these Patersons i asked myself why they had a hidden trigger?
Love the cased '61 navy.

The reproduction Patersons that I have seen have ONE (total) safety button on the back of the cylinder to rest the hammer on bewteen chambers, not one between every cylinder like the Colt Armies and Navies do.  Take a closer look between all the chambers. There should be one little button between two of the chambers somewhere on there.  Also, according to the SASS rule book, if you have a five-shot revolver, you may load all five chambers as long as you rest the hammer between chambers on the safety notch (button, in this case).
Check out my website at www.bpstuffllc.com for blackpowder shooting supplies and custom finished and tuned cap and ball revolvers!

Roosterman,

Nice find. I wasn't able to make it over to the auction....too bad as I hear a number of items of my particular interest (and yours) went for reasonable coin.

Slim
