Beveling Belts

Sort of a straight forward question on belt making. I was looking at a tutorial on basket stamping, and they mentioned beveling the belt before stamping. Is there a proceduere besides the tap tap tap of a beveler? I'm wondering if a creasing tool might do the trick, or something I'm not aware of.

JD, I believe there is something called a push beveler, but I have never seen one in person.
For awhile, I was using a smooth beveler and just pushing it along by hand, but much prefer the tap tap tap results now.

IVe dont the same thing as Dalton and used a smooth beveler and just pushed it along but have gooten good at the tap tap tap thing LOL and ive heard bout a push beveler but never seen one so if ya get a hold of one or find one onling let me know id like to check it out

i have a push beveler.

but i dont use it no more.

the tap tap tap routine works so much better for me.

i can get a better bevel with the tap tap tap method.
i may not be useing the push beveler right.

Thanks guys. I seem to remember Barry King had some push bevelers for sale when I went to the Pendleton Leather show. I didn't think of it until you mentioned it.

Howdy
Here is a pix of a push beveler. I use it once in awhile when I'm doing a belt and I want a smooth bevel
and it doesn't have to be very deep.
Most of the time I use checkered bevelers and I need a much deeper bevel.

looks like ill be doing the tap tap tap method for a while those push bevelers are price and ive only found it threw Barry King

WC, that looks like one of my beaders. Would that be possible to make a push beveler by grinding down an Osborne beader?
