I have a 51 converted to 41 Colt (used Walt's and Jay's Kirst Konverter kits).  Since conversion of the 51 Navy is somewhat common, and wanting something different, I am working on a 41 conversion of a Leech & Rigdon.  The ammunition I make for these conversions is composed of Starline brass, 200 gr HBRN .386 bullets from Buffalo Arms (http://www.buffaloarms.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=157137&CAT=4136) and 21 grains of FFFg, using standard small pistol primers.  These have been shooting quite well, with point of aim impacts, and groups 2 inches or less at 10 yards.  This is a fairly stout load and should not be used with brass frame revolvers.  In fact, conversion of a brass frame revolver should not be undertaken.

We are starting to sell more of these (I reamed a cylinder yesterday and mailed it off).
Bernie at old West made me a "special" 3 cavity mould that is really the cats meow.
It is also very easy to fireform 38's for reloading!

I have a High Standard L&R I am converting too.
Let's hear about (and see) your L&R!

I see someone blew the cobwebs off this again.   Wow Gaf's price on a hunderd Starline is pricey.

Have any of you come across a decent crimp die or tool for a the heeled bullett?

It is a Cimarron Uberti.  I am waiting on the revolver.  I decided not to convert the beautiful charcoal blue one that I already have, so have ordered a standard finish one.  When it is done, I will put up photos.

Dusting this off once more, since Hoof Hearted wanted to see the Leech & Rigdon conversion to 41 Colt.  Finally got around to it.  Here it is.  I am totally not happy with the finish on the cylinder, and will probably send it out to be polished and hot blued.

PM me with shipping address.  I will send it to you as soon as I tweak the timing a bit.  The bolt is coming up just a tad to soon.

Old thread, but very interesting. I have an old Navy Six that would be just the thing to make a .41 Long Colt out of. Thought: Project Midway. Navy Six in .41, CV-41 USS Midway. The .41 is midway between a .32 and a full-tilt .45, too.

A friend had a Remington converted to what he called a ".41 Special" which used modified .41 Magnum cases.  Don't recall what bullet he used as its been about 20 years ago.
