Troy, I just removed the cell phone pocket. One of the pairs of white pants I wore at the GAF Muster started life as painters pants from Wal Mart, I just removed all the extra pockets and hammer loops, had to open up the side seams to remove them, then re-sew. Helps that the pants were new, so there's no "fade marks" to show where they were. Only problem with them, they're still cut to ride too low, with the Foreign Legion outfit, had to wear the blue sash too low, to cover the top of the pants.

Silver Creek Slim

Clear!  ;D

I am working on a pre-WWI US Army outfit.

Anyone know of sewing patterns for 1880,90's uniforms?

Good Troy

My newest impression...an Apache.

All except the shirt are made by yours truly...breeches, breech clout, belt, holster, headband, and moccasins.  I enjoy this aspect as much as the shooting and fellowship!

You all make a much better looking Indian than I did. ;)

Nice, Troy.
But, the wedding band looks a bit odd.  ;)
I can no longer take mine off unless the finger goes with it.  :o

Thanks Quickfire, and Slim.  Quickfire, you are modest in your comment!

I'll eventually accent the outfit with some silver jewelry.  My mother has a squash blossom necklace that she is giving to me at Christmas.  Also, I've found some one-size fits all rings that would cover the wedding band, but I too must, by choice, display mine!

Lookin' good, Troy! But I think more important than darkening your hair, would be darkening you!

M2, how's Ottawa Creek Bill doing? he's been absent from the forum for several years.

Major 2

I saw him several years ago, but it's been far to long...

The advent of WWI trench warfare brought on that regulation.  ::)

Seems that our Silver Creek Slim looks more like an 1870's civilian scout than a 1917 doughboy.....

Good Troy

Slim...I think that you should shave and dye your hair to make the look complete!   :P
Seriously, though...nice outfit, nice job!

Tater Peale

Here's mine, it's partial PC. The hat isn't correct but I don't like the look of most period correct hats. Delmonico's looks good on him but for me it just doesn't work. The pants are grey wool based on pattern used by some early civil war confederate uniform makers. Shirt is dark blue three button. Veat is a four pocket wool with satin liner and back. Boots are mule eared , that have the ears cropped. The spurs (not shown) are bottle opener patterened. So while most of the clothes are close to PC that period would range from about 1850's Mule eared boots, to 1890's with the bottle opener spurs, throw in the 1860's for the confederate pants, and the Deputy Marshal's badge used in I.T. in the 1880's. The more I've learned about the time frames I can now begin to refine my clothing.

Good Troy

Nice get up, Tater.

As for a hat, how about a CW era slouch?  I think you'd look good in an open crown with a kettle curled or pencil rolled brim.  Something like this, but with a rolled-edged brim...
