NEED R&D TAP AND DRILL (Got One!)

The current story is they don't have any and have no plans to make any

Surely one of you pards bought a set along with the drill alignment tool?
I have the drill alignment tool and now need the LONG tap and die set.

So before I start making, silver soldering, grinding, searching, etc. I thought I would ask to:

STEAL
BUY
SMOOGE

I already checked with Midway and since R&D says they are no longer making the Tap and Drill, doubt that that date will be accurate

If you are looking for the setup for the 36 caliber, 1861 Colt (also the 1862 Police as sold by Cabela's) you might try Doug Stuter, Doug's Gunsmithing in Fairfield, CA.  Phone 707/426-5040.  He is open Thurs, Fri & Sat 10AM to 4PM.

He converted a pair of revolvers for me a couple of years ago to 38 Long Colt and he purchased the alignment fixture, the drill and the tap from R&D.  My guess is that he will never use them again and he may be willing to part with the whole package.

Anyway, you might give him a call.  Tell him Rich Heller of Napa, CA refered you.
