My Ladder sight slowly raises up during shooting?

The title says it.

My ladder sight is flipped up for 100 yard shooting.  If I push it to the bottom it is right on at 100 yrds, but over the course of 5 to 10 rounds, it slowly works its way up so that it is on the 200 yard setting.  Thus I shoot sort of rising patterns more then groups.

Any simple tips on fixing this?

The sight looks a bit flimsy so I did not want to just grab it with some pliers and give it a sqeeze to fix.

By the way, still love the Iron Framed 44/40.  Still draws a crowd at the range.

Thanks for the suggestion.  How do you get at the spring?  Isn't the slide pegged at the top of the sight?

Been awhile, but I think I removed the screw at the top of the sight. This allowed the sliding bar to come off. Be carefull of the tiny spring in there. It is not easy to reassemble, just takes extra patience. I cut a few coils off of a small spring in my box-o-stuff as a replacement.
