Converted 1851 frame finish - case color or blue?

I have a pair of Pietta 1851's that I converted to cartridge with the R&D loading gate conversion.  I am thinking about slow rust bluing the cylynder, barrel and ejector...and am wondering what to do with the frame.

The color case hardening on the frame is mostly gone and I wondering whether I should pay to have the case hardening re-done or just include the frame in the bluing...

Anyone know what the result was when they converted them back then?

This question is one of those "preference" things

Most people don't reaize that you can get Color case work like this done for under $150.00.
There are a number of people offering this service. Doug turnbull comes to mind first but there is also Jay Strite among many the many others that do fine work.

I was hoping you were closer to some of the guys I know.
Walt Kirst highly recommends Jay Strite and says his case hardening is "more period correct".
