Does anyone have any experience with this and if so do u like?

I have an older Stoeger hammerless coach gun with 20" barrels.   I love it.  Its a great little gun and shoots pretty good.  I dont recommend 3" smokeless hunting loads thru it.  Kicks like a mule with those.  Winchester AA trap loads work good with mild recoil.  Also black powder shotshells dont have to much recoil.

just my $.02

I've mentioned my experience before...Generally favorable

I bought one in 2000 ...it needed some tweeking
A simple 12 guage bore mop with valve grinding compound pollished the chambers so shells would shuck with a quick jerk.
There was slight ridge in the chamber which I smoothed out.
I needed to deburr the extractor bore so it would move freely.
Also a polish on the hinge lugs to allow slick opening.

When I bought mine, the various options were not offered I.E. Stainless & Deluxe finishes
I never liked the Brazilian Mystery Wood  ( now walnut is available )

If I or a friend were looking for another Coach gun I'd consider the new Stoegers..for the price

However, I wanted a Hammered SXS so I bought a TTn and sold my old Stoeger I never have been sorry

when planets align...do the deal !

Positive on this end . Like my 12 ga. It does kick though . But I shoot mostly BP loads which takes a bit of the pain away.
Nice gun . Would recommend it for sure.

I have a Stoeger that really kicked so I added a $30 limbsaver on it and have never regretted it.  If you go to the limbsaver site you can cross refrence what model # fits a stoeger to another brand shotgun that the discount mags sell.  I think it was Benelli.  Anyway check it out.  It fit out of the package with only about 1/16" lip w/ the stock on the sides.  Some may bag on you for adding a recoil pad but it looks like it came new out of the box w/ it on.  I never ever think about the recoil now and every target I've hit has fallen on the first shell. (meaning that I'm just usiing the cheapest boughten loads and not lightly loaded reloads).

Mine is a 20 inch 20 guage.  Got it in the early 90's.  The wood looks good and the gun shoots good.  No external hammers.

I got no complaints.   ;)

I have shot Stoegers from my beginning with CAS, I have 3 of them now...

but I will never buy another one!

One of mine broke... the pivot lug sheared.
I called Stoeger, took over 3 months to get the OK to ship it to them.
Shipped... got a form letter back... "will look at it and advise." also "Minimum 45 day wait"

Never heard back... then on 5/1 I got my gun back... UNFIXED!
and.... marked on the barrel "UNSAFE TO FIRE" that will not come off without grinding!

So Tensleep...  I guess if mine breaks I should just throw it away or maybe hang it on the wall.   :o

Most of my experience with Stoegers is bad.  Went through 3 before I gave up and traded it for another gun.  I like the Russian Baikal hammerless coach gun..  Got my first one in 2003, have shot it in almost every match since then and never had a problem with it.  They just need some tuning when you first get them.

Thats absolutely goofy - on Stoegers part.

Tenzzzz - Lincoln County Regulator can probably fix your gun - if you still want to shoot it.  He works out of a gunshop in Zuni just south of wakefield.

If you brought it to him he could tell you for sure and give you a price for the job to help you make a decision either way.

I have his card here somewhere... I'll send you an im when I find it.

I have a Stoeger Coach Gun that I've been using for 2-1/2 years now and it's never failed me. What I've just heard makes me a little nervous. I'd sure hate to have mine fail during a match. Maybe I ought to think seriously about having a spare available, perhaps a TNN.

Mine failed on the second stage of Mason-Dixon Stampede, The Northeast Regional.

I would suggest that everyone have a backup.

I've got one of those Baikal hammerless coach guns that MM has. It's brand new and still in the box. I've always shot pumps, so I use a 97 clone.

I noticed that Rawhide Rio has a Baikal coach gun with hammers for sale in the CAS classifieds.

Marshal Will Wingam

I have mixed feelings about Stoeger. I have two that really work great but I had to get five to end up with those two (Stoeger was good about replacing the bad ones). One needed some serious break-in to work but it finally came around. I really like mine but probably wouldn't buy another one.
