OM Ruger 45 LC W/Triple 7

Had a chance to shoot with my son over the weekend. I had loaded up some 45's with 777 and 250 gr. cast bullets/SPG. The smoke and bang was outragious! What a different experience from smokeless loads. My most noticable feature was the stout recoil generated from these loads. Powder was slightly compressed - not much, but I didn't weight the loads as it was a BP Sub. I'm guessing the pistols will hold up OK, but wondered if anyone else had experimented with any of these type loads?
