Doc O

You mentioned in another thread talking to Walt from Kirst about the Thuer drop-in.
Do you have any other info such as when it would be out and for what models?

Thanks Doc

When Walt and I last comiserated about the Thuer conversions, there was some issue with the copy of the plan (which is 2d) and the 3d application. What this really means is that the first prototype version had to be slightly "re-engineered".

I plan on calling Walt soon on another matter and when I do I'll report back to the forum :D

I believe he first version will be set up for the Uberti 1860. It would most likely work on any pistol with that same centerline distance. Remember the Thuer is a true (and was) drop in. Walt is thinking he and Jay Strite will offer a "cylinder modification" service (this will allow you to retain the roll marking) as well as a barrel fluting (thiis could also be done at home with a dremel) service.

The other part of the conversation was that a version could/would follow for the 1851 and others (I think a '49 Wells Fargo and a 3rd model Dragoon would be cool). Once the thing is in production all that is necessary is a "re-scale".

Hope this helps ;)

I talked to Mr. Strite once about a 1st Model Richards. Nice fella, but he wanted a fortune to make one, circa. $1500!!  :o  I just hope that extreme labor prices don't kill this in the womb.
