Yeah, mine's a SERIOUS quilter. She flew to Houston in November with three of her quilting buds to attend an international quilting show. She started winning awards for her sewing at age 12, still doing it at 54. She has a quilting room with a wooden rack about eight feet long, and a machine that sits on it she can move around. Actually, it's been pretty handy, 'cause she really knows her bid-ness, and has helped me cut out stuff and figure out patterns.

I haven't got her shootin, and doubt I will, but she's a heck of a photographer and takes pictures of some of our meets.

She's good cook and she puts up with me, 32 years in April. Don't know what she sees in me, but I'm not going to push my luck!

Sounds like I've been taking the same path as your wife, only with leather. I've taken the plunge this week, having cut out several belts, and redoing a gun belt.

They say you learn by doing, and that's sure a fact with leather. I'm still not sure of the best way to make the cut down sides even, but I can tell you several ways NOT to do it! Next comes som stamping and dyeing.

Jd was reading your post to my wife tonight and as i was think to my self she pipes up saying you folks sound like a couple she would like to meet and about the same time id said the same darn thing lol ;D

We would enjoy that for sure. The cloest we've come to your neck of the woods was Gillette, going to & from Sturgis in 04 & 05. We stayed there in 04, on the road home, after we got a late start from Rapid City. I have a friend who lived in Thermopolis for a number of years, pastoring the Assembly of God.

This has been an evening of Experimentation and mistakes, in cutting, snaps, trying to figure out the best way to do things. I've got three belts in various stages, but coming along.

If you wife has any questions about quilting, I'm sure my wife would be happy to help. Just let me know and I will work out the connections.

God bless, JD
