Thinking about getting a pair of 58's. Maybe from Cabelas.
Are theirs as good as any other distributor?

My also get  the conversion cylinders for them in the future.
I may be wrong but I thought I've seen them in 44 and 45 cal.[the cylinders].
Which cal. would I need for the .44 cal Remmies?

Thanks

A Pietta is a Pietta, doesn't matter who you get them from.  One BIG plus with Cabelas is that if anything goes wrong they will replace it without question.  Antique ".44" bores actually measure .454 or so.  Thus, they can use .45 Colt ammo and the bore is exactly right.  Unless you are a die hard reloader, don't mess with anything that purports to be a ".44" conversion.  A true .44 conversion requires heeled or hollowbase bullets and are a pain.  Stick with readily available ammo and bullets.

Hey, I'm not the new guy any more, however, I still think my questions are a little more stupid than his!!!!!  ;D

Actually thats not stupid at all. Pietta .44 is fine...and just as good with the 45 colt conversion cylinder. Some other guys wil join in here and give ya some great advice!!

The only time a question is stupid is when you don't learn from the answer ;)

Here is my opinion (and yes I have dozens of Remingtons and as many or more Colts):

Buy from Cabelas with a Credit card
Look them over and if there is anything wrong call and ask to be sent a call tag and another revolver.
Buy the Kirst Konvertors, yes they are 5 shot but you should only carry 5 anyhow, they are SASS legal and if you want to  port them you can. The new gated ring works either way and R&D's does not.

Yes 45 Schofield works great.

Just my $5586.32 cents worth

I buy alot of stuff form Cabelas...especially from the Shooting catalog!! My Pietta '58's came from them and I love 'em. You will not go wrong with Cabelas. And definitely like others have said stick with the .45 conversion cylinders.

If you do end up with the 44 Colt cylinders, I'll make a standing offer:

I'll give you half what they cost :o
(I like Heel Base bullets) ::)
