Fans of "Lonesome Dove" have always bemoaned the fact that a good, clear, widescreen version of the movie has never been available.  If you are like me, by the time DVDs came along, you had already worn out a VHS tape and you eagerly tracked down a copy on the new-fangled disc, only to discover that the copy they transfered to DVD was actually of worse quality than the VHS tape had been...which is to say "poor" at best.

Gentlemen, a new day has dawned!  The greatest Western ever made, "Lonesome Dove", has now been digitally remastered, translated into widescreen format with 5.1 surround sound  and is available on Blu-Ray.  The sound and picture quality of this version is nothing short of outstanding!!!!  Finally, we have a version worthy of this fine story.  What?  You don't HAVE a Blu-Ray player?  GENTLEMEN, THIS MOVIE IS WORTH BUYING A BLU-RAY PLAYER FOR!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have a Blu ray player already.  I agree that buying Lonesome Dove .........again will be well worth the cost.  Thanks for the info.

Every one has their own opinion, but I'll stick with "The Searchers" on BluRay as the Greatest Western ever made.
