HH,
Thank you for the info.  A year or so ago I tested the powder charge (mostly FFFG) taken from a .44 Henry cartridge under a 200 gr. cast bullet and it clocked 1,133 f.p.s. which was pretty darn close to the 1,125 f.p.s. that was given by Winchester.  I used a  "Rocky Mountain" reduced capacity .44-40 case and seated the bullet so that it compressed the powder the same .08" that the powder was compressed in the .44 Henry ctg.  The groove diameter of the original 1873 Winchester that I used was .433".

At the same time I tested 28 grs. of Swiss FFFG for velocity using the same cases. A Rem 2 1/2  primer produced an average of 1,231 f.p.s. and a Fed 155 primer , 1,249 f.p.s.   In your .452 groove barrel and heavier bullet, I would expect your velocity would be somewhere between 1,150 -1,180 f.p.s.
