My Nickled Plated Henry

I bought,traded for this rifle at a local Gun Show 10 yrs ago.The only problem is a scratch on one side plate. 44/40

Good Lord, that scratch is awful!!! You're lucky that I'm willing to help you out and take that rifle off your hands!! 


That is one SWEET rifle!! We had a silver plated and now a nickel plated. Someone here needs to now get a gold plated one!!

I don't know the year of manufacture.The serial number is 0xx51.It appeared to be unfired when I got it.I shot it 15 or 20 times cleaned it and put in the gun cabinet.It is a factory nickle. Jim Hughes

Look for a series of letters like "AE" for example on the side of barrel near the receiver or right behind the trigger underneath. There will be a "PN" beside it. "PN" is the Italian proofmark for black powder.

On the side of the barrel there are 2 hallmarks followed by the letters AU.Behind the trigger OAL 1559,2 hallmarks,Ubertie,Italy .There are some letters associated with one one hallmark,P&F or PSF.Hard for 68 year old eyes to make out.This is a military model.If someone has an idea of manufacture date I would like to know.Thanks Jim Hughes

My Uberti Henry has "AM" as date of mfg.  Is that 1981?  Thanks.

tex, using lonesome henry's 2nd link in this thread,  the AM lettlers would make your henry a 1984.  cj
