It's a shame that so many of those stars are no longer with us.  It brought back some great memories of the western movies on Sat. afternoons and the TV westerns that were on almost every night of the week.

I didn't see Dale Robertson in that clip, I'm suprised he didn't make it. I get the Westerns channel on my Dish Network dish, so I get to see Maverick, Bat Masterson, and the Rifleman on a daily basis.

We get that channel, good to see em again, but you know there are some that I never do see, don't know what happened to them or if I'm just missing em,  Stoney Burke,  The Rebel, and them 20 mule team Borax shows.

I'm with you pards. TV took a nose dive. I heard Gene Autry's "Here comes Santy Claus" on the radio yesterday, brought back good memories. I forgot all about Sugar Foot until I watched the video. The good ol' days.

We only got 2 channels on our TV when I was a kid.  Channel 10 which was CBS and Channel 4 which was NBC.  We got ABC in 61. I was a senior in HS in 65 when we got a color TV.

The Westerns Channel is always good, then American Movie Classics, and Turner Classic Movies. I got a goodly amount of my own DVDs and we have Netflix. Most of the time I can find something I like.

I figure it's only a matter of time before the Westerns channel gets all those WB western shows. I remember when Bonanza and Tales of Wells Fargo first came out, they were the only Western shows filmed in color. NBC and RCA Victor worked together to get folks to buy these expensive color sets in order to watch the shows in Color.

Yea I guess I misspoke. The Westerns Channel, History Channel, Outdoor Channel, Versus Channel and the Nat. Geo channel are about the only ones I watch anymore 'cept for college football. ;D ;D ;D

Had a black an white set when I was a kid.  Watch the little dot in the center of the screen til it warmed up then it would come back when ya shut it off an was cooling down.  Everything but reruns was in color then so a lot of scenes were to dark ta make anythin out in B&W.  Had ta mess with the fine tuning dial that was a ring set around the channel knob.  UHF was even more fun.  Our first remote control was attatched by a wire that ya had ta stretch across the room ta reach the couch.  This ended my job of being the channel changer.  Now everybody wants control with the clicker.  Used ta be the youngest or whoever was closest ta the set had ta get up an do it.

Oh, an the History Channel is worth watchin too.  I don't know what Versus is, they don't offer it here.

Leo,
Versus is listed on the channel as VS. It is generally sports including some shooting and outdoor programs. I get it with Dish Satellite programing. Live too far out to get cable or antenna.

Some of those other Encore channels have Westerns once in a while. I've got "Bad Girls" on the Action channel right now. Not much of a plot, but the scenery ain't too bad.
