Del, I've been to the one at the AB at Omaha. They had a bunch of old bombers, I guess it's because of the SAC connection.

Been moved to a new place between Lincoln and Omaha just off I-80.  They got the stuff all inside now.

Leo, We got one of those old Missle sites south of Fort Worth, in a little town called Alvarado.  A guy bought the whole site for a small sum and he lives underground. It is completley self-contained. It even had a kennel for the guard dogs.

What made me think of it was that back in his highschool days, Lil's oldest had a dream of buyin one up an doin just like Pop said the guy in Texas did.  He's almost 23 now an I think he's let go of the idea.

The ones around here flood as soon as they take the pumps off line.  Most are below the water table.  I know there is one that has limited axcess to it.  The scuba terams practice there.  A HS friend had a malfunction in it 30 years ago and died.

TLD, here is the list of planes at the SAC Museum.  Maybe next time you get up this way we should go have a look see.

Del, I look forward to that next fall.  That EC is a mobile command post. Those planes flew 24/7 for almost 30 years to warn us of an air attack by the Russians.

I had a cousin that was in the Air Force for about 25 years, he was stationed in Newbraska for the last 12 years he was in and rode one of those planes on his shift every day.

That was when SAC was the main line of defense. Before Kennedy closed it in  61,  we had a SAC base in Amarillo. I can remember seeing all those B 52s parked on the runways when we drove past on Old 66 headin' east out of Amarillo.

Saw one of them, scared me at first, was pickin' up Andrea at school, afternoon of 9/11, knew there were no civy planes in the air.  Saw somethin' comin' in low and slow, then saw the big wings.  The NAG base used to be part of SAC, still gets used once in a while.  Found out much later it came in for fuel here.

That was a strange day ta say the least.  Me an the two guys I was workin with were headed to a job over in Kansas bafore we heard what had happened.  We saw all kinds of military aircraft flyin over that morning.  Boss was behind the wheel an said,"somethin big is goin on, this aint normal."  He pointed up at one an said, "that's a U2, it don't belong here".

Not ta get off topic...wait a minute this is the topic.

This was at the bottom of the news.  I ain't gettin alarmed er nothin, but ya think we coulda got better answers than, "I'm sure they're just having some R&R".  Cause hey man, we all know Cuba is the place ta party.  I don't believe there was a "ho-hum" response either.  We're sposed ta be concerned with Chistmas shoppin an what not right now.  Why bother us with stuff like this?
