Amazing the stuff we collect, . . . and can't figure where ? . . . how ? . . . or why ? . . . we have it . . .  ;D

In a trunk of my old stuff, in the attic of the family home in Ohio, there are two little boxes of 25 each of 9mm Parabelum shells, . . . they had to be aquired by me in the early '70s . . . . . and I have NO possible idea of how or why I wud have aquired them . . .  :o  duh . . .  :P
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

A conversion cylinder in 45 acp doesnt make much sense to me for CAS.

Is it possible it would chamber 45 Special?

I assume (all disclaimers apply) that the "45 Special" is the same length as the 45 ACP. That being said I do not know how the rim would affect that length.

Two possible solutions:

Trim the back of the cylinder to allow for the rim.
Ream a counterbored rim recess.

If you want me to explore this and can supply me dimensions, I will investigate further.

Greetings Citizens -
The Kirst cylinder in .45 ACP holds 6 rounds, as opposed to 5 for the .45 Colt.  The Remington NMA cylinder has too small a diameter to accomodate 6 .45 Colt, even with it's small rim.  Since the .45 ACP does not have a proper rim, the 6 shot cylinder is possible with the cartridge headspacing on the case mouth. This design would necessitate use of a  taper crimp.

Thus it I don't believe is is really practical  to try to machine this cylinder to take any rimmed cartridge, .45 Colt, .45 Cowboy, or .45 Auto Rim. :-(

I am however one of the goofy types that would be interested  -I see Mr. Taylor has first call for any cash offers,  but might you care to trade for a 6"  damascus Bowie with an Elk grip?  :-)

Greetings Monsieur Hearted -
terribley sorry for the long delay, as I appreciate your offer and did not wish you to think I had blown you off...
After much angst and pulling of my hair I have convinced myself that I should stick with C&B in my .44 Remmies, for a number of reasons. Thanks however for your kind offer!
