The Army has some kind of mounted unit at Ft. Riley.  IIRC it is a volunteer group whose members have a regular duty and do this as well.  I have seen them at several old west festival events.  They dress in ACW uniforms I think.  That is a portion of the Pentagon expenditures that I approve of!! ;D

A thing to be known and enjoyed about muzzle flame photos is that there is only one sure way to get them with any regularity in SASS shooting.  That's to shoot the Holy Black.
