Howdy Doody

I got my new Tower of Power loading stand today in the mail DD. I got the box opened and took a quick peek. Too bad I have to go to work this afternoon or I would have set it up and played with it.
I will put a drop of loctite blue on the rod and jag, also the machine screws when I set it up for the ROA cylinders. I sure would hate to lose a part at a match. I will probably round the pin the cylinder sits on a tad too. Boy O Boy though, that paint looks great. That is the ticket right there. I looked over at the old style one I have mounted on the cart and it is a mess. It is all rusty from shooting in the rain, dew and whatever. It served me well though and now on to a new era of slick cylinder reloading on the cart.
So, I am off to work, but tomorrow I will play with it some. Thanks pard.  :)

Thanks Howdy,

The new stand is made to accept all the jags and pins from the old one.  What looks like paint, isn't.  We used a very high tech plating process.  It should be very resilient.  As you may have seen in the literature, there's a feature that this stand has that the old one didn't.  I won't advertise it, but you will find it very helpful after you use it.

Keep a bit of lubricant on the brass bushings.  I chose the kind that has micro pores that the lube will hang on to.  Your new stand is very smooth now, and it will continue to get smoother with use.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Hoooyaaaaaa! Now we are talkin'. I set up my new press this morning. I never leave too much to chance, so I Loctited the screws for the adjustable plate with the pin to my ROA cylinders. I got it set up for a nice square push of ram into chambers. It will stay in place, but since I used blue loctite I can always get it apart easy enough. I went ahead and loctited the ram too, where it screws into the clevis. This thing is gonna work just great. It makes a good conversation piece too. You always get these non BP types askin' what's that thing for.

So, I am replacing the old one with the new one. I wonder how many bullets I have rammed with the old one? A couple years worth at least. 4000? I don't know. Dick Dastardly will have to get an accessory counter added to it (just funnin') So, I am a happy camper now. Looks good, works good. :)

Thanks Pony Racer. Salute to you on Veterens day pard. Yeah, weathered, I like to call it patina. I will dowhat I was going to do before the new ones came out and that was that I will sand off the rust with steel wool and shoot some paint on it in the places where there is no friction.
I am going to build a new cart and that is where I will mount my new press. I'll keep the old one for a while at least while I work out any bugs in the new cart. I plan on a hinged top that will swing over exposing a working surface with the new press mounted and a place for my reloading supplies that I use at a match to stuff my cylinders with the good stuff. Goex. :)

Thanks HD.

Yesterday was a good reflection day.

A nice patina well cared for is something that to me looks great.

I'm shipping loaders as fast as I can assemble them.  Pards in Scotland, New Zeeland, Netherlands, Germany, Australia, Canada and of course the good old USA are all receiving units.  There's still quite a stack of back orders but I'm working thru them asap.

If you have ordered a DD Tower of Power cylinder loading stand, or one of the older style units, and don't get yours in another Two weeks, please click my banner below and send me an emule from the "contact us" section.

Thanks for waiting.

Black Powder

Perhaps some of our pards from the Leather Shop will design some fine covers for those that mount it to their carts...

I'm sold.

Howdy - Hope you post some pics when you get that cart built with the swing top.

I've got my excuses and I'm stickin' to 'em.

Howdy Doody

Blackpowder, it is getting to be a running joke. I have mentioned I was going to build a new cart for more than a year and so far I have procrastinated for just that long. I now hope to build it after Christmas, because I am not shooting in January. Let's hope I get on the stick and get going.
Meanwhile I gave the new loader a workout this weekend. I shot 12 stages at the Northfield Raid, so that would have been 120 EPP boolits loaded that were cast from wheelweights. Good test drive. It worked flawless and at least 3 people asked me about it. One said he saw it right on this thread and I can now tell you I really like it. It looks a little shiney to be on my faded out beat up cart, but it will look dandy on a new cart. Thumbs up on the new Tower of Power.

Fer what it's worth and if ya ain't in a rush, my DD Safety Gun Cart drawings are nearing completion.  Here's a folding cart that hauls your guns so you don't have to look down the muzzles as you move.  I'll be putting the drawings up on my web site as PDF files that you can download for free.

Goooooooooooooleeeeeeeeeeee! Bling for Soot Lords! That stainlees steel stand is as flash as a rat with a gold tooth! I know a lady or two that would take them, shine them up and fit a few sparkly gemstones! What you buy for the lady shooter that has everything!
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

I would think that if you gave me more throat clearance I could use this bad boy to clicker press leather die cutters!  I have one like the old version pictured and a friend has wanted it fer years,  HMMM, just might be time to give him a gift!

Dick Dastardly

Throat clearance was designed to handle Colt Walker cylinders.  It'll also handle Remington spur trigger .31 cylinders, and everything in between.  One side has a recess cut for 1860 open top cylinders.  Turn the plate over and it's flat for ROA and other cylinders with flat ends.

Since I'm making my own pins and jags, I am able to supply big ones for Walkers all the way down to the little ones for the .31 Rem.

Does one of the pins/jags fit the Rogers and Spencer Cap and Ball gun?

Exactly what size is that?  Since I make them myself I can make any size you might want.  So, what exactly is the size you need?
