Howdy Django,

Django, these holsters would be nice if you had been making holsters for years, let alone your first, beautiful work, you have talent, stay with it and keep them coming.

Thanks for the encoragement folks!
TW, the only experiance i have is that when i left school i started tailoring at a London college for a couple of years.

I have learnt from bad experiances to bug people and ask plenty of questions  about "how to do", basic tools etc before wasting money and time on the wrong items and advice!

It looks as though i have come up trumps with this excellant friendly site, so thanks to all the members i have "bugged" who have got me this far, i'm loving the hobby , It's not cheap starting out in the UK though!!  :)  !!

I have just recieived some stamps, spots etc from Tandy (another blow to the bank balance!,don't tell the wife)so the next project is the loop holster on chucks DVD.

I will only be making authentic period leatherwork 1840-90 as my hobby is reenactment camps and all things related .

I will go to my local club and see if anyone on "the dark side" (line dancers)are interested in buying non period leatherwork though ;D!!
How much , ball park should i be looking for?PM me if this is a taboo question!
Cheers

Very nice work on that knive and sheath, Dave. Very cool to have both the stud and the belt loop.

Wiley, that rig is really outstanding. The meander corners are done nicely. It looks very good in that color, too.

Django, your holster is very authentic looking. Very good work on that one. The color is nice, even though it may not have been your first choice. The other two are just as great. You can't claim the title, "newbie" anymore. You're beyond that. Very nice work. You're working in my favorite era for leather. Keep it up.

Great work, Django. You're producing some terrific holsters already.

Django, ditto on what everyone else has said. You remind me of Arizona Cattleman; he came to the forum "new" to leatherwork and then proceeded to do some great work right away. Amin Ledbetter did the same thing.

In the first post I'm wondering why you apologized about the SAA gun. I can not see any reason to to apologize for anything unless I missed something (which happens more often that I'd like)

You've got two of the most important things any budding holster maker could have: Packing Iron and Chuck's Burrow's DVD, so you're certainly pointed in the right direction!

The gun is an old "pot metal" wallhanger..still it does the job when wet moulding.
Thanks again for the enthusiasm and help from everyone on the forum

Smart move to use a non functioning gun to wet mold whenever possible as far as I'm concerned. No need to worry about rust.

This is a new holster. I've shown the belt before....

Mornin' Skeeter,

Skeeter nice looking rig. Some great workmenship. ;) KT
Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

Skeeter, you have really honed your craft, this is one good looking rig, that money belt came out great, and I've always liked a 3/4 skirt on a long barreled gun, your tooling is beautiful also.

Thanks for sharing, and keep up the great work ::) :o 8)

Django:
Very nice work, pardner. No newbie status IMHO. All three have a classic, authentic look...and I consider that the highest compliment I can give.

Skeeter:
Ditto the above. Super clean, classic, well-executed period look. Doesn't get any better than that.
