That looks great Dalton, but now I'm trying to wrap my pea brain around how you accomplished that in the light of our PM conversations. So it looks like that top piece of leather you talked about folding over is just one piece, not with tabs cut in it. So you didn't sew that bottom piece but used snaps to hold it on?

I'm guessing you have a back piece folded over, and have sewn the lighter piece on the front. Did you wet that front piece to get the placement of the magazines correct?

It's a really good looking mag holder, and doable for me I think. When I look at Dave Cole's work I think "Not in a million years"

Dave, your stuff is flat outrageous

Thanks Dalton and Dave for sharing your thoughts and skills, JD

Ok. The back piece is all 1 piece that folds over the belt and is held with snaps. No cutting involved in it, other than making a rectangle and poking snap holes in it.

The magazine loop portion is the same as yours, with the tail on the inside, not the outside. Sew the tail first, then flip the rest of it up into position, and sew the sides, wet mold, and viola. Easy to take off and put on, and allows different widths of belts to be accomodated by changing the size of the back piece.

EE Taft, Great lookin butt wrap.  I need to try that.  How do you protect the stock as you lace to keep from scratching it?

EE Taft

Anymore I just punch the holes just big enough to push the lacing through without a needle.

I was more worried about the pins on the spots rubbing the stock so I lined it with suede.

It's not stitched, just glued and the laces run through it

AC, it looks great, what size/type lace did you use, and is this a double loop? the lace almost looks like suede.

Dog gone, I've been away a few hours and everyone's in a posting mood. Where to start.

Dalton I will PM you tomorrow with some more questions on this mag pouch if you don't mind.

WC that's great looking 1911 leather. I really like the staggered mag holders, but after my experience of molding and sewing that looks like it is above my pay grade, to quote a certain president. Truthfully I'd love to know how to make that. I've seen those BBQ lighters around, but never with scabbard that cool!

Wiley, that is a real cool single mag pouch. I like the idea of single pouches because you can space them any way you want. Is it held on with a spring clip? That's another one I would like to know how to make, so now I pictures of five different mag holders, and at this point I need to figure out how to make at least one of them, and make it look decent!

Dave Cole, you must be seeing different pictures than I am, because I'd be hard pressed to point out any work I've seen here better than yours. As good as yours? Sure, because we have some awesome leather guys here. Better? Not IMO. You Rock!

AC, you've made an outstanding Wild Bunch holster. You've gone ballistic in the talent department lately. BTW you've got a package coming your way. I know it shipped direct, but they use snail mail, so it may be next week before it arrives.

EE Taft, sharp looking butt cover!

Is this a great board or what!
