Great saddlebags, pard. I like the simplicity of the design with the oak lef accents on one side. The oxblood suits them well, too.

Thanks much for the compliments.  It means alot coming from all you leather pards out there.

Johnny...I used 9/10 oz. for the main body and 5/6 oz for the gussets.  The color is Mahagony oil dye.

  It was a fun experience and I got a lot of help from fellow SASS members.  Can't name them all but if anyone is looking to get started and you have a question just ask and you will be amazed at the help that will come forth. 
The dark rig was for a lady shooter and since that one I have made a couple similar ones with the darker finish and contrasting conchos.  Now to figure out a design for my wifes new rig

My Henry rifle has been somewhat nekid these last few years.   I have finally got around to completing a project for me.   Here it is.

A fine sleeve. The fringe and beadwork work nicely together. It looks authentic.

Here's my newest Walker holster.

Great holster, pard. Clean and to the point with just the right amount of trim. It shows off D-style trigger guard and the loading lever so you can see what kind of pistol it is without even taking it out.

I want to make a new rig for myself over the winter months so I'm making some practice holsters and tying a few new things. I just finished a Mexican Loop style with a large skirt. Don't know if I like the brass spots on the loop or the embossing on the skirt.

Nice holster there JM. I like it as is. I have made a few almost identical, and the one thing I did different was put the next size larger spot in the center. Gave it a focal point so to speak. Border looks good too!

Thanks for the kind words there Marshall. I like that scooped cutout at the loading lever. It does let you know what is there, and that its not to be trifled with.

         That holster, looks good to me, I use nickle spots alot myself, I like the look, years ago I was told by an old timer ,that they started useing spots back in the 1800's not just for decoration, but the spots actually saved the leather from getting scuffed up and scared, so they helped to keep those hand carved and stamped holsters and belts looking good. NICE WORK

               I just finished this money belt and 3/4 skirt cheyenne holsters, and a knife sheath, I bought Ckuck Burrows dvd on holster making , and I highly recommend it , he is easy to listen to and follow, I used his method of dying and antiquing, and I'm real happy with the results, I've been trying to get this look for a long time, and Chuck showed me the way...
