Thanks for the positive comments pards!

Boothill, I can make this style with a metal lining.  This pair doesn't have one.  They have a 8-9oz body with a 6-7 oz lining.  I love your derringer rig.  It is excellent work.

Santee, Yes, the blocks keep the holsters from moving up and down on the belt.

JD, Judging from the pictures you have posted over the months, your work continues to get better and better.  I also learn something new with every pair of holsters I make.

Ned, Those are great loading strips.

I am so thankful that Outrider told me about this forum.  I'm learning so much and I enjoy communicating with other leather making guys and gals

Wiley Desperado

TN, those are very nice holsters very impressive to get two holsters looking exactly alike in every manner, design, size, shape, color, tone, even the roll looks exactly the same amount of angle... top shelf leather work pard.

BHB, beautifully done belt and holster you are very talented my friend.

Ned and Bob those loading strips are great. The reason I never made any is just what you said Ned a lot of work in a small package, but very popular.
Wiley ;D

JD Alan

Ned and BhB, you both do excellent work. Ned, how long does it take you to lace something that size? You would need to have a customer who understood that quality costs to afford to have that done. They sure look sharp!

Ned Buckshot

JD it takes me a couple hours I spose?

It has gotten so repetitive and uninteresting that I usually do it in front of the TV after I'm done working for the day.

I never really make any money to speak of on any given thing, if that was the goal for me I would have given up long ago! (many projects don't even work out to a dollar an hour!)

Damn, you boys are faster that I can keep up. Lots of nice lookin' work been posted since my last visit pards. Congrats to all. This group could virtually be its own cottage industry. Only wish I had the time to be so productive. Been making a few shoulder rigs for customers etc., but haven't really had time to post much or even create much other than filling some orders.

Nice job pards.

Nice ammo carriers Ned and Boot Hill Bob, I made one a few years ago, I'll post later, not as nice as your two, but functional.
Well done pards, and thanks for the look see.

Dave I understand being busy, but there is no pressure here, you don't have to show anything or make anything, we just like you joining in with us. Since the the Show Your Stuff thread started, it has jumped leaps and bounds, as you have noticed, so stop in when you can pard, we'll always leave a light on for ya.  :D 8)

Boy are you correct on that comment Ned!  I spend way too many hours on stuff.  If I charged people by the hour, they couldn't afford my stuff.

Ten Wolves Fiveshooter

Well pards I have to agree, the amount of time it took me to make this ammo carrier I could never charge enough to recoup my time, but I made it for me, so that doesn't count, this carrier isn't as nice as Neds or Boot Hill Bobs, but like I said before it's functional, and with this  hard wear  it easily disconnects when needed from your gun belt to place on the loading table, it holds ten rounds on each side.

Nice leather work TW, after looking at these fine loading strips I might just be forced to make one to see if I can.

JD Alan

Wow, another great looking loading block. All of you guys Rock!

Quote from: Ten Wolves Fiveshooter on April 10, 2010, 08:22:56 PMI use  a one pound can of the DARK ROAST coffee, and about two heaping tablespoons of broken or crush iron, or you could use a dozen or so iron nails, I pour this into a 20 qt. pot filled 3/4 of the way up with water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer, and simmer for about three or so hours, let cool over night, and then pour into a plastic container of your choice, but one deep enough to submerge your leather in. the dye my last rig was done in , I made a year ago, so it doesn't go to waste. when dying I leave my leather in the dye, submerged for 24 hours, then pull my leather out and rinse off with fresh water, if you're doing a belt place the belt on your bench straight or curved as you want it, when dried it will hold its shape pretty well, same with your holster, but you want to mold the holster to your gun at this time, let dry 24 hours, then condition with Lexoil conditioner, and after an hour , you can start oiling with either EVOO, or Neatsfoot oil, you will find you can vary the depth or darkness of the leather by the amount of coats of oil you apply, when you get it the way you want, let it dry over night, if it still looks the way you like it, you can either use Skidmores leather cream or use another sealer finish or nothing at all, that's open to you, or make it darker by applying more oil.
Thanks, I'll make it that way, then. Maybe a small steel wool pad (no soap type).

Good carving, AC. You're getting the hang of it fast. The lacing does them well, too. Nice wallets. Great looking kids.  ;)

Nice looking slide, Ned. Those all brass shells sure look nice, too. Thanks for the detail shots. I like the way you used the top layer for a stop without just sewing a strip along the bottom of the loops.

TN, those holsters really are nice. The simple design looks good with the slightly darker two-tone finish.

BH, that derringer rig looks good. Small, but quality just the same. Good job.

Very nice loading strips, Ned, BH, TW. I like features on all of them. I use a chamois gold bag but may have to try one using some of those ideas.

Howdy TW,

Looks like a well thought out and very practical design. I like the detachable feature. Many thanks for sharing your talents and expertise with us.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

KidTerico

TW thats a great job you did on slide. Quit knocking your work. Looks good like all of them. KT
Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

Ten Wolves Fiveshooter

Thanks, Will, Johnny and Kid Terico, your kind words are always appreciated, the quick disconnect on this carrier does make it easy to take your ammo to the table and load and replace on the belt.
