Thanks TW, this one is smaller, and of my own design(except the carving pattern) My grandson is 4 so as long as i can put some money in it he will be thrilled.  Not his B-day, my grandaughters and daughter in law's but I hate to leave him out as well as my son.  So they will all get something.

Howdy AC,

Beautiful job on your Grandson's Wallet! Excellent carving & lacing!  You have some good looking Grandchildren. They will always treasure what you make for them.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Yes JD on the slide the loops are woven through and held at each end with a chicago screw.

The pictures show the detail of how the shells are held up, it also has the advantage of tilting them out away from the body for easier retieval.

I've used this design for many years and it has worked well for me and alot of other shooters.

+1 on the Grandkids. We have ours over every Wednesday, they spend the night. It's the highlight of our week.

Ned, you have a great design there, plus you do such nice work on top of the great design. From the first bottom shot (great pictures BTW, thanx) it seems there are 4 layers of leather. Is that correct? Is that dip dyed? That looks like pretty stout leather for the loops, but I'm not a good judge yet of size. Can you tell me what weight leather you used?

Thanks Ned, I really appreciate the education. I haven't heard about your health for a while; are you hanging in there? JD

Howdy JD. I'm doin' OK, just kind of in a holding pattern right now. No news is good news I guess?

There is the 2 layers of the body of the slide with a filler strip about 3/8" wide across the bottom. Then there is the "shell plate" for lack of better terms.

So yes there are 4 layers. The strip may be overkill but it doesn't stretch like thinner leather!

This is my latest rig.  The customer wanted a plain rig with no tooling of any kind.

More pics.  I couldn't get a picture of the belt on here - too big of a file.

TN, those are real quality holsters.  I love the two tone and the colors.  Your customer is a lucky pard.
