Annie, your chaps look great, there's a lot of hand work in this one, but it paid off, thanks for the look see, and it's wonderful to have you joining in with us, and becoming part of our family here in the Leather Shop.

Those chaps are really nice, Annie. The handwork was certainly worth the effort. Thanks for the pics. It's good to see you with us, for sure.

Annie, I see alot of sore fingers in that job but well worth the effort. You did real good on those. Do the legs close with zippers?

Helda, absolutely beautiful leatherwork.  Those saddle bags are great! I have never made a pair of chaps they look a little intimidating to me...might try it someday.

KT, pard I am going to frame a picture of that rig you just posted right over my work bench and if I can ever get my carving to look that good...well I'll consider I have arrived.

BHB, looks like your scored some points with that day planner, very nicely done pard.

Annie, you are one of my new hero's looks like none of this leatherwork stuff scares you.  very good job on those chaps.

Irish Dave, been wondering where you got off to ol pard.  Those are some mighty fine lookin slim jims...class act for sure.

goodtime annie

Yes the chaps have zippers in them. I put the first one in wrong, had to take it out and change that so that was like hand sewing in 3 zippers! Mistakes will teach you!
Goodtime Annie

Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go!

Wow Annie, those chaps are really something. You did a great job, and I love the color. It's so true that experience is the best teacher.

I made a second Mexican loop holster (left handed) to go with the first one. I made them about three weeks apart, and had to use different leather, because I'm burning up the scraps more or less. The second one came out darker even using the exact same dye mix. The second piece of leather was not nearly as nice as the first, especially the back.

I still didn't get the loop portion adjusted to center and that aggravates me. I centered it when the leather was flat, so I will have to mess more with than, or just make them straight!

I will make a belt to match and give them to one of the new guys at the range to use until they can afford a nicer rig. After that they will be used a loaners for our monthly range orientation.

The man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument.

Looking good JD,I'm sure they will get a lot of use.

Nice chaps Annie!

JD, very good work on the holsters. Give them a few years, and the mismatch of color wont be noticable.

They look good!

Dunt mess with them JD, I didn't notice it till ya mentioned it.

If anything put a couple of conchos on the straps, might fine look holsters and the color is a great match.
Leather will do that fer ya,they have their own personality.
