Thanks, everyone. It was fun aging that holster. I was gonna make a belt to go with it but I can't  bring myself to abuse that much good leather.

Great job, Wiley.

Johnny McCrae

Howdy Skeeter,
I can find some coffee and a car but could I rent your Beagle? Seriously, that is a great look! You did a very nice job of antiquing.

Howdy Wiley,
Beautiful job on the 1911 Holster! As TW said, good clean lines and just the right amount of tooling.

Many thanks to you Gents for sharing your work with us

Thanks, Johnny.

Hey, Boothill, you showed a Dodge holster. This is my stab at it - the R. E. Rice holster on page 101 of Packing Iron. Skeet

Skeeter, it looks real good. The simple deocration and the clean lines really appeal to me.

Thanks, GB. I copied the decoration on the original. But it's time for me to try carving now. I've carved one holster. I've gotta try another.

Ten Wolves Fiveshooter

Very nice Skeeter, I agree with Gun Butcher, good clean lines and it has an authentic look to it.

Hey Slick, you dun drug me down to earth - but Bob, I'm mighty impressed. Swedish top gun!

No, it isn't water-molded. I only do that as a last resort if the holster is too tight. I'm not sure it's old-time authentic to water-mold. It's authenticity that does it for me, though I love to see the fabulous speed-rigs, B-movie rigs and bling that pards show on this site.

Wiley, that's a terrific WB holster. William Holden would be proud to wear it. Can't wait to see the rest...

Thanks 10W. For me, half the fun is designing the pattern and trying to get clean lines like the old-timers.

GunClick Rick

You have to have a gun is Sweden don't ya? Do they support you cowboy shooting pretty much?
Bunch a ole scudders!

Boothill Bob

Rick, CAS is a growing sport over here, we have only 350-400 active cowboys/girls in sweden but we
have fun when we meet. Muddflat Mike was shooting here last sommer, it was verry nice to
meet him..

Here I have made a pattern for my wild bunch holster, I stole the model from Mernickel, but I dont
think its going to be as nice as his holster ;)

Nice work guys!

Skeeter, the Plum Creek that is stamped on that holster, is now Lexington, NE, where I live now. I have wanted to make that holster, with the name and give it to the museum, but havent done it yet.

EDIT! OOPS. I didnt have my book in front of me, and didnt realize there were two Rice holsters in the book. The one I was thinking of is on page 106 and is marked WF Rice.
