Kid, just get done what needs to be done and get healed up.
The piks will always be here for you, even if we Have to E-mule ys Pard.

JD Alan

This is a guitar strap I made for a member of our church worship team, Heather, who loves it. She requested roses, since her middle name is Rose. I want to thank WC, who took this strap and added color and a finish to it. My wife took the picture by the way ;D

Howdy JD,
Beautiful work! A genuine pleasure to look at! Many thanks for sharing.

Hey JD, That's a beautiful guitar strap. I been needin' to make one for myself and havn't gotten around to it yet.

And JD, sorry I ain't got back with you til now on the skirt on that holster. I got plum tuckered out last night and went to bed at 8;30.  First time in months I went to bed before midnight. guess I was just worn out. ;D

The first pic. is the two tone. It is a pretty simple design, almost too simple as it doesn't have a tension screw.

This is some detail on the black one that I did. I like the design on this one a bit better as it has the tension scwew and a screw at the bottom of the skirt.  Have a look........

A shot from the edge....

As you can see, The black one is for a short barrel pistol.
Hope these are helpful to any one interested.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. WC, she is really stoked about it; she did not stop smiling the whole time we were rehearsing. Chris (my wife) took several pictures with the strap in use, but they did not come out as good as this one did. She does not realize what it would have looked like if I had done the color instead of you, but I do ;D She does know you did it though.

Her appreciation makes all the frustration of trying to carve a rose go away. It's great to make something for someone who appreciates it so much. The challenge now is the other half dozen giuitar players will want straps too :o

Thanks for those pictures EE Taft. Are you embedding Chicago screws between the leather layers, or are you using something like T nuts?

Though I appreciate the views of that black holster, the one I had questions about is your Birdseye holster shown below. I saw that piece behind the grip, and I was curious as to what's going on there. I realize now looking at it again it's the belt billet I see back there. So I assume you have a keeper sewn or riveted on the back of the holster, sort of like a Slim Jim. I especially like the color. Very nice work. Thanks, JD

Sorry Pard, but I can't take credit for that one. That beauty belongs to Montana Slick

I would assume though that he uses a loop sewn to the back of it simalar to the loops I use on my Slim Jim holster design.
That's probably gonna be my next build after I get my rig done. I'll be sure and post pics when I do.

BTW, MS that's a beauty of a holster!!

The backs of my holsters are chicago screws embedded in between the face leather and the lining leather.
It's an easy process, just remember to install them before you line. As funny as that sounds, I still do that from time to time and have to correct it.

That only happens on those late nights when I should be asleep instead of setting at my leather bench. ;D

JD, WC, that smile really is a fine reward for the work done.

That strap must make her thirsty, though. ;D

I agree, Slick's holster is a good one.

EE, thanks for the pics of the back of those holsters, especially the black one.

Don't mention it Sir.

I like the ones with the tension screw for the belt, as it helps keep it in one place instead of riding around the belt as you move and run.

It's even a simple design. Just make sure you follow the proper steps while building it.  Not that I've ever been accused of having the proper steps. ;D

Anything I can do to help out.

Marshall, she just happened to be handing out water to the various members of the worship team (We're a thirsty bunch!) Well hydrated people sing better. We usually have 10 people or so doing music every Sunday morning.

EE Taft, my mistake, and I'm sure Montana Slick will weigh in on this at some point :P

Here is the back of the slim Jim ya saw a few posts ago, will take car of the ??'s

Lets see if I kin get the pik to work here.

Sized for a 2 1/2 belt.

JD Alan

Santee, thanks very much.

MS, thanks a bunch for the backside shot of the Birdseye holster. It looks real good, but it looks like you could use a larger belt that 2 1/2, but not seeing it in person it's difficult to say for sure (and you of all people would know for sure!)
