Very nice pard, your rig has a classy look to it and is classic SASS looking with the star conchos, it look great, and I can see why you're proud of it, I hope you will pick up where you left off, and will have more to show us down the trail.

Thanks for the look see Pard  ::) :o 8)

:)  Thanks Ten Wolves for the compliment and thanks for the warm welcome.

I'm in the process of constructing a new craft room, both for my guns and leather. Hope to get it up and running here soon.

I left the Hell on Wheels Country I was there for 8 yrs. in Deadwood DT,and relocated in Washington State. I may be from Montana but consider Wa. my home.

MS nice rig. Good workmenship. I have always been partial to blk. with silver conchos. I am waiting to see your next one. KT

Just finished these two holsters. They are from two different hides and were dyed with a freshly brewed batch of Walnut Dye. Both were in the dye for around 15 hours. The Mexican Loop has three coats of Neet's and the Slim Jim has one. Both have one coat of Skidmores so far.

Nice work pard, the color came out real well, it's also nice to be able to vary the color by just adding a little oil, the holsters them selves look great too, nice border tooling, just the right amount , and your placement of your spots is right on the money, they look like they just stepped out of the 1800's, thanks for the look see. ::) :o 8)

Gun Butcher

Montana, that's a sweet looking rig. When you get done with your room you can give me some pointers on getting mine done ;) ;D
Johnnie, now thats a pair to draw to. That natural dye is the berries.
Lost..... I ain't never been lost...... fearsome confused fer a month er two once... but I never been lost.

Gun Butcher, be glad to share some piks on the craft room when it's done.

The tooling room is gonna be in the gun room and the table for layouts is in the HO scale Railroad room.

Now figure that one out. Space availability? :)

Does anyone have a special dye you like to use? I need one that doesn't bleed off  on the clothes.

My black rig is fine, it's my light brown one I have a problem with.
I use a vegetable dye.

Nice leather Johnny, and the guns, what about the guns, they caught my eye. ;)

Johnny McCrae

Many thanks for the kind words Pards. Without the help and encouragement received on this forum, I'd never be doing Leather Working like this.

The Slim Jim contains a Cimarron .44 Colt Richards Transition. The Mexican Loop contains a USFA .45 Colt 1873 SAA. Both have grips I've made out of Corian installed.
