Lacing is something I haven't tried yet, I'm still trying to nail down good stitching! After seeing your lacing efforts, especially that lacing in the middle of the belt, I think I'm going to have to give it a try

JD dont be afraid to try. It is very easy to do.KT

Howdy Kid, once again, outstanding work. On the holster you've pictured here, it appears the keeper runs through slots cut in the back flap. Is that correct? No matter how you did it, it looks great, but I'm wondering what the back looks like. Do you have the two ends of the strap butted up flush with each other, and how do you have it attached back there? I've seen keepers laced, stapled, riveted and screwed down. Thanks very much, your work is inspiring. JD

Kid Terico

JD Theres a  copper rivet on each end holding the loops and then I sewed the billet over it for a finished look.KT Sorry answered the wrong ? The strap is butted and laced. ???

JD Alan

Thanks Kid, that's what I wanted to know.

Well again you have brought out another beautiful piece of work, your belt and holster really do look like they just walked out of
"Packing Iron "  spreading the bullet loops out this way also gave the belt better balance, and enabled the maker to dress up their belt with carving and as you too, adorning the belt loops with spots or conchos,  this practice seemed to be quit popular in the period. You did a great job of creating and old style gun rig, Thanks for the look see  ::) 8) :D
