Buff:

I think the picture software resized the photograph of the 7.5"/8.0" revolvers to an odd, foreshortened size.  Either that, or they're 5.5" short barreled versions.

Yeh Rusty Spurless they are cool in CCH in any barrel length . The Pietta models CCH are way nicer than the CCH on the Uberti's models , JFYI .

Yes that is very nice!

I sure wish Uberti would get with the program with the CCH. I am a died in the wool Uberti guy but love Pietta's CCH!

I so agree with you on that one Rusty Spurless , they could do a much better job . But the grey on the Ubertis CCH does look cool too , just they could use just a little more color is all . Uberti's almost look antiqued a little instead of the bright color care hardening colors so many people like . I love it , but it could be brighter for sure. Always has been my complaint with Uberti but they aint hearing me whine enough , yet . Triggerr pulls , outstanding , CCH , not so outstanding . It is what it is .   8)
Now if the two companies merged and took less vacations then we'd have a hit I guess . That pic of the Pietta does it no justice though, it is beautiful in person , trust me . Nicest Pietta CCH I have , and I have some .

That is one good lookin hunk of iron.  Nice case colors and checkered grips.  Danged if I'm not sorely tempted to acquire a pair of them.

I feel the same way... One would suit me right down to the ground. Iffin I had 2 I might be tempted to cheat on my girls (pair of 51's)  ;)

Unfortunately my next purchase is gonna be a 1860 type 2 conversion & CCH iron framed Henry.

I don't have any leather yet, been looking through the posts in the leather section on this web site, man those guys do some really fine work.

Both 58's are .44 and have 8 in. barrels.  I had to monkey with the photo to get it posted and it did make the barrels look shorter.

AAH, well 8"ers arent bad either! They do look short in the pic, but then the cylinders looked funny too.

As far as leather, any of us over there at the Leather Shop would be happy to make ya something. Ya just gotta ask!

Good luck. DM

Pards,

Just to add, the Piettas are very well made and, yes the casehardening on these is much darker (very) than most.  But, the high-lows are still quite nice and the final finish on these models are well done, as well.  The Piettas are just coming out much better fit and finish than some time back.  Hope the pic comes out OK.

Nice Pic Brizco-2 ,

I think this particular run of from Pietta on this model sure did come out nice this time . I got mine from Cabelas too . Everyone so far that I have seen has been this pretty also . I think for the extra few bucks for this model compaired to the standard 58 is well worth the extra few bucks for sure . Although not authentic whatsoever . Or should we say not likely to see one back then that had case hardening or checkering unless owned by a gunsmith that is .  ;D Glad the repros are at least available now though in this configuration , there sure pretty and finished very smooth . Especailly the grips , nicely done too . Nickle or Silver plated trigger guards and we would have an all time winner hear for sure . JMHO .
