OK, I've heard several opinions as to how the sights are fitted to Uberti Open Top replicas. So I'd like to hear from some one who has actually removed and replaced the sight from thse pistols as to how they were actually attached at the factory.

Thanks. Cole

What kind of open top are you talking about?  Cap & Ball, conversions or the 1872 Open Top?  Some of the different models and calibers have different sights.

This is not all inclusive, but of the guns I have worked on, the brass cone sight on BP and Conversions have been press fit.  The 1872 Open Top is pressed, staked and glued.  The glue resembles someting ike JB weld.  The sight on the '72 is usually "german" silver.
