Pelosi gets personal flights on government-owned aircraft.
Why not someone who DESERVES it?

BTW...There's now a slim chance I will be off-duty on the GAF Muster weekend.

Anyone driving from the east coast near VA?

Anyone on the way west willing to pick-up passenger and share costs for fuel and etc...?

I might be able to get to this - still working out time off.

I made O-5 but now that I can go to meetings and write documents myself without parental units - I have found myself just as busy!!

Oh Well

MG That's great I hope it works out. I'll hold a bunk, even if I have to give up mine. ('course that would make a lot of people happy not to have to listen to me snore  ;) )

PR, MSGT Charles Isaac is registered from NC. I don't know if he's driving or flying. Last year Steel Horse Bailey wanted to share a ride and couldn't find one. you might check with him. I know he's been sick recently but I don't know how seriously or if he even would like to come. There were also several from the Indiana/Kentucky area that had talked of sharing rides. Maybe someone will see your post and contact you.

Thanks Pitspitr,

I have kin just hour south or so from Lexington - so that KY idea could work pretty easily.

How are people dealing with BP ammo if they are flying?

So far the General is the only one that's talking of flying, so I haven't had any requests for that kind of information. Could you mail it or ship it UPS?  ::)

Quote from: US Scout on July 13, 2009, 04:36:43 PMI'm still trying to make flight reservations - for a somewhat reasonble price.  My problem is that I have to fly to Arizona from the Muster, so I'm looking at about 6-8 legs from start to finish.  So far I'm looking at about $800, give or take a few bucks.

How long can you be gone? Pony Racer is looking at sharing a drive with some one. Could you drive the first leg then fly to AZ from here?

Pony:

I reckoned that you could still fly commercial with cartridge ammo (whether BP or not).  I do all the time.  It's not REAL BP anyhow, is it?
But if ya need to ship it to an FFL, you can send it to me on UPS or FedEx.

;D

Much obliged for the bunk.  But DO NOT give yours up.  I can still pitch a GP tiny out back.  Because my snoring is a lot worse'n yours!!!

Have the match programs been finalized?  How many stages?  Starting time, etc?
I am going to sponsor a stage too.
If we get enough GAF shooters, I may donate a firearm for a drawing or door prize.

I have a new (to me) officer's wall tent that I'm probably going to set up. I don't know if I'll sleep out there or not. I will for sure if it looks like we'll run out of bunks so givining up mine isn't a big deal. We can also use the hospital and the laundress quarters so we ought to be able to house around 60 without tents and a few will be bringing their campers or sleeping in town, so realisticly I don't see us running out of room even though we do have more registered than we did at this time a year ago.

The muster format will follow last year's. Friday is the side matches. The long range rifle and pistol matches will probably be in the morning and the 4 stage wild bunch match in the afternoon. The main matches will be on Saturday and Sunday. we'll try to get in 7 stages on Saturday, but if it looks like isn't going to work we can cut back to 6. Then the other 3 or 4 on Sunday. I'll have to dig out my files but if I remember correctly we had colors at 08:00 on the parade ground followed by a short safety meeting and then left for the range which meant we started shooting around 09:00. This year Gripmaker has graciously offered to lead a morning chappel service at 06:00 on Sunday.

Thought that I should perhaps post a confirmation that the British Empire will again be represented at Muster 2009 - my registration has been submitted and processed, and my Form 6NIA application has been submitted to the BATF ....

Accordingly ...... God willin' and the creek don't rise ...... I'll be in attendance once again.

Notwithstanding it means I must miss our local autumn invitational cowboy action shoot for the first time in our club's history, my presence at Muster is mandated by the need to defend the GAF Muster Divisional Challenge Plate - presented last year (.... the first year ....) to the Division of Canada (Dept. of the International).

I challenge any and all GAF members who can possibly arrange to attend to be at this year's Muster,  if only so an attempt can be made to ensure that the Divisional Challenge Plate remains in the United States rather than returning to Canada .... ;D

Well, It sounds like RSJ has thrown down the gauntlet. I hope I'm up to the challenge.

What's great about this challenge is that each and every participant gets their own choice of weapons!

I am SO looking forward to it. I just started a new job and I'm already going to have to burn at least a personal day and maybe part of a sick day to be able to do it. Right now I'm hoping to be able to build up some comp time to be able to do the 2010 match. The GAF Grand Muster is THE match that I do everything in my power to NOT miss. I know sometimes things come up, but when you make the effort to attend this match you won't be dissapointed....unless you never want to try something different. The Muster is a really unique and challenging match that gives people a chance to shoot weapons that don't have a venue anywhere else. I know in these tough economic times that attendance creates a challenge for most people but If Col. Rattlesnake Jack can make it happen I know a lot more folks could too.

My flight arrangements have been made so will be getting my registration in shortly.

Good thing the Muster wasn't this week - I would have had to cancel again.
