What with a full year to plan, I would expect that we could easily double, perhaps triple, the attendance.

This is plenty of time for all those GAF'fers who have expressed the desire to attend to make arrangements. This is THE ideal sight for our Muster, one of only two still existing fully restored period frontier posts.

I realize the economy will mean tightening the belt, so decide on treating yourself to The GAF Muster 2009 as your one big event for next year.

Are the dates indicated written in stone?

The reason I ask is that will be Long Weekend (Columbus Day in the US, Thanksgiving in Canada) - which is when our local autumn invitational Cowboy Action Match has been held for the past 15 years.  The only Muster I have had to miss so far was the first one held in Iowa .... because it, too, was held on that weekend.

:'(

It was mighty tight this year, with our Shoot following the next weekend after Muster, but I managed ....

For those writng the stages, expecialy the wild bunch.
We have 2-3 (maybe more by next year) shotgun knockdown targets that when they go down will throw a fliing target (plastic pop/water bottles 1/4 full work besk) about 10-12 ft straight up to also be shot for a bonus with a penalty for "failer to engage"  or scored however you would like.  But they are a hoot.  I think we would be willing to bring them over if you would like to use them as part of the wild bunch or even the main match.  Could add a whole new aspect and extra chalange to the game for those shooting "forager Scout"

More ideas to follow.

Well, they've only been publicised here so they probably could be changed, but here's the position I'm in.

If we go any earlier than the last part of September there will still be too many tourists at Fort Hartsuff. The last weekend of September is the big Nebraska Territorial Rangers shoot. The First week of October is the Nebraska State Black Powder Shoot and the Coffeeville Dalton Reenactment. If we go any later than the middle of October the weather is too "iffy". (As I type this it's raining cats and dogs, the wind is blowing about 30-40 mph, and it's only in the 50's)

This year we missed out on about a half dozen shooters that went to the BP shoot. This week I've confirmed the dates of the BP shoot and chose the second weekend so that our two shoots don't conflict.

Sir, I hope you can come next year.

I hope so as well.

Since Frenchy and Pony Racer are both interested in going, perhaps we can form a traveling party.

Heck, why don't you just invite the Secretary of the Navy along?
