Have a great time ya'll.

Who knows maybe this time next year I will be in Memphis or St Louis, will be closer and might be able to make it.

And yep Coast Guard has major commands at both locations due to large river complexes...

If I get either locales I will be the Deputy SECTOR Commander or XO.

I wish I could be there as well, but I look forward to graduating as a fully qualified Military Police Platoon Leader this Friday.  Hopefully next year, I will be down range.  I and my peers were formally accepted into the Regiment this morning in our Rights of Passage Ceremony.  I was quick, and the highest ranking guy there was a Colonel, so there was not a lot of pomp and circumstance, which made the ceremony more intimate and more meaningful.

At some level playing an officer in the GAF helped fuel the disire to be a real one...I know my big journey is really just begining, but I am glad this leg of it is coming to a close....

Its possible I wont get there until noon or so, depending on Pooper Troopers plans for day care. Even if he flattens all my tires, it should still be by 11.

Yep, I may have to find somewhere on the way from the airport to get a sleeping bag as I suspect the two blankets I'll have won't be enough!

Don't know if we can find any.  If there is corn in that field we could live on parched corn, got a couple three Rebs coming, they know all about that. ;)

Capt. Montgomery Little

Been so long since I et parched corn that I can't remember but, did lead a raid into Ioway in August and bushwhacked a sutler and came home to MO with about 50 roastin' ears. Was in turn raided by them durned younguns upon arrival and lost all but a Rebel dozen (about 18) of them roastin ears. Me, Ma and Mikey et them in short order and they was goooood! Them Ioway Yankees ain't real smart as they don't know the difference twixt good roastin' ears and peaches & cream. No wonder theys mostly democrats.

River Junction and the Big Brown supply wagon came through, wife texted me a message this afternoon that my campaign hat arrived. No wool shirt, but I have a substitute for that, at least I won't have to use my palm leaf hat! Only problem is it's kind of round for my head, wonder if Del will have any of his hat fitting stuff up there?Maybe I'll just steam it some then put it on to reshape a little.

Getting ready to load up and leave tomorrow morning, preferably before 0-dark-30.

River City John

Guess I'd better load ammunition, Huh?

I am such a procrastinator.

Looking forward to this weekend.
Everyone travel safely.
