Well Pony, I dont have much wool yet either. I have a little bit of Confederate wool, and a blue great coat. My uniform is still on order, and I am hoping it will show up in time, but its doubtful.
Will be fun nonetheless!

Col. Pitspitr,
Not only did I recruit a newbie for the Nebrasky division, but I'm bringing him to his first Muster.
Yep got his registration.

Good job!

Gentlemen,  If what Col Pitsptr says actually goes down, the order of the day will be "WARMTH", not necessarily authenticity.  Just come and have a great time and if the ladies tend to get cold, buy them something warm to wear.  You will get more "points" than you ever thought you could in a lifetime. Your motto should be "Be nice to the girl." If you have never seen Mark Gungor's marraige DVDs, you have never truly laughed in your life.

Headed for Nebrasky come Thursday next.

Gentlemen:
The projected temperatures sound positively pleasant to me!!!   ;D
Could do without the rain, howsomever .....  :-\

Still hoping to get away from here Monday, though I may still have some sewing to do, en route, while my batman drives.

I am a mite miffed that a complete Queen's Own Rifles of Canada NCO's cross belt and pouch that I purchased on eBay will not likely get here on time ......  I bought it almost two weeks ago and paid for it by PayPal on Tuesday September 22.  When it hadn't arrived as of Wednesday of this week, I sent the seller an inquiry, and he cheerily replied that it had been mailed on Tuesday, September 29!
:'(
I still have a faint hope I'll get it before my departure - sometimes. the private contractors who deliver parcels for Canada Post work on Saturday to get caught up ..... or, I suppose it could arrive on Monday morning before I hit the road .....
::)

Ironically, I had managed to accumulate all the necessary "hardware" to make one up (belt plate, lion's head whistle-and-chain, pouch badge, etc.) but when I was the successful bidder on this complete set, I shelved my plans to make it ....  Oh well, I would have cut quite a dashing figure in my QOR field uniform!

This is what it looks like, anyway ......  The third image is an 1889 photo of three NCO's of the Queen's Own Rifles.

You know what they say about Nebraska weather, "If you don't like the weather, stick around. It'll change." That is also the case with weather forcasts for Nebraska. Currently they've taken the rain out of the forcast though the temps have changed: Thurs; High 59 low 36, Friday; High 52 low 34, Saturday; high51 low 31, Sunday; High 46 low 30 Wind 12-14 all days. Sounds like it'll be fairly chilly, but without the rain It shouldn't be too miserably as there is pretty good wind protection at the range.

The last thing I will be needing from each member is a vehicle count. I will figure 1 vehicle per participant unless I hear from you that you are car pooling. I know that Cherry Lake Jake and Cherry Lake Kate will be ariving together and I believe Curly LaGrande will be coming with them as well. Anybody else car pooling?

The Little Gang will be Huraaawin' in Thursday evenin' (that's anytime after 3 PM for you Northern boys). We coulda got there sooner but are bringing baby brother Mikey who is just outa trainin' pants so may have to stop more oftener than usual. ;>)
Don't tell MIkey I said that.

Well, we've heard said that Mikey will eat anything, so that may account for the frequent stops.

The Little Gang, huh?
That means you Boys had better plan empty space in your packing, cause you'll probably be going home with 10% of the prizes this Muster . . .
somehow don't seem fair, does it? ;)

Speak for yourself there Big Bro.  Mikey SAYS ;>) that he has lost 20 lbs in the past few months. I told him that it was following him at a very close proximity but he didn't get it. I have gained about 300 lbs but not to my body. Found that much lead and cast bullets in the house we recently bought to restore. Also all kinds of 30-06 and 30-40 brass that I hope to have ready to take to the Muster to get rid of. Don't have a gun that shoots them so don't need them. Somebody is already licking their lips in anticipation. Also saw all kinds of larger pistol primers at the local gunshop at $30 a brick (Winchester and CCI). They came from an estate and even though they are a few years old, they have been well stored and should be just fine. Gonna have to go get some of them this week.

I can sure use the brass. What do you want for it?

Col. Pitsptr,  Will do some research on value of brass and do some dickerin' with you when we get there. I have no idea what it is worth.

Texas Lawdog

I would like to get about a 100   30/40 hulls. I just bought set of Lee dies to go with my one stage Lee loader.  Now, If the Post Office can find my rifle, I'll be happy. It's too late for this year, but maybe I can get some brass and lead bullets to have loaded for next year. I am bringing my Eddystone , my Trapdoor, and my Henry 45 colt.
