Mustang Gregg has just made me hungry by mentioning the prospect of having calf fries for one of the meals. Count me in!

Please add another "guest" for the barracks as my "Little" brother will be coming along just for the ride. Can he wait to pay for meals until we arrive as he doesn't deal with checking accounts or plastic (old fashioned kind of guy)?

Troops:

Bad news on the possibility bull fries on the menu.
The onliest ones I can muster up before the Muster are pretty expensive.   ::) :-\
So let's not get to drooling too quick.  But I'm still searching.

Here, here! Bully, I say. It is my humble opinion that the previous owners of said "oysters" have suffered enough humiliation by their removal. Let us not be so crass as to revel in their misfortune by celebrating such with a meal.  If you must indulge in such things, why not go to Washington D.C. and ......never mind, no one there has any either. Carry on!

Mustang Gregg, My feelins' won't be hurt too bad about the calf fries. We've got a couple of places in the Stockyards in Fort Worth that serve them if I get too hungry for them.

Hi Everybody

Here are a few final details.

Since the parts of the Grand Muster that will be held in the barracks is in a state park here is a list of the pertinent rules: No hobnail or heel plates. If your shoes have them bring something else to wear while you’re in the building. Don’t bring any fire wood. If we need wood it will be provided. No Alcoholic beverages are allowed on Nebraska Game and Parks land. No smoking in any of the buildings. If you smoke outside please don’t leave your butts laying about. Since cigarettes did not have filters in the 1870’s park personel must pick up the butts they find by hand to preserve the historic appearance of the grounds.
A Nebraska Park entry permit is need on your vehicle. This is included in the price of your Muster registration, but I need to know ASAP when you plan to arrive and if you plan to stay for all 3 days. If you’re from Nebraska and already have a permit please let me know that as well.
All meals are included in the registration fee.
If you have any special needs please be sure to let me know so that we can plan for them ahead of time.
You will need to provide your own bedding and table service.
There is a modern rest room a short distance from the barracks and there is no electricity in the barracks so it might be a good idea to bring a flashlight.
You won’t need a gun cart, but if you really want to bring it AND you don’t mind sharing it to serve as a rifle rack, you may bring it.
I just checked the 10 forecast and it’s saying highs in the 60’s and lows in the 40’s with the possibility of a few showers so bring appropriate clothes- we can’t post pone the shoot if the weather isn’t perfect!

Thursday, October 8th I plan to arrive at the barracks late afternoon. If you get there before me, tell whatever staff is on hand that you are with the GAF. If there is no staff on duty… Make yourself at home!

Friday, October 9th 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Check-In
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Side Matches
1:00 p.m. – Complete Wild Bunch Match
After completion of the wild bunch match we will return to the fort for time to tour the post and visit.

Saturday, October 10th 8:00 a.m. Morning Colors/Mandatory Shooter’s Meeting
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Main Stages
6:30 p.m. Formal Banquet

Sunday, October 11th 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Morning Colors/Mandatory Shooter’s Meeting
9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Main Stages Continue
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lunch
2:00 p.m. Clean barracks
3:00 p.m. Awards & Final Muster

Main match round count is:

95 Rifle
77 Pistol

The final Wild Bunch round count is:

49 Pistol
12 Shotgun

Long range rifle is 15 and LR Pistol is 10

Does anyone have a reproduction saber or sword that we can borrow for a stage weapon?

Col Pitsptr Sir!

I will be mailing the registration this week.  How much extra do I need to add for three others to eat and enjoy the shoot?  Hopefully I can get Dona Rebe to shoot  a stage or two as well as well as Miss Maggy (she's 8 but I would like to introduce her to the sport and the history associated with GAF)?  I will not get there til mid to late afternoon on Friday, hopefully I can find a place to camp in Ord.

Cheers

p.s. For the Buffalo Scout, can I load some light 45-70's with Trail Boss?  I have yet to venture into BP with this round, still learning.

Yep, same building as last year. We will be reserving the kitchen bunks for Delmonico and his helper if he has one this year.

Kurt there's a camp ground at the Ord city park about a half mile from the range. The trail boss loads should be fine. Maggy can do her shooting free. (I like to see youngans get started) meals are $7.50 easch straight through.

Dalton we'd love to see Freeda and Pooper Trooper.

I plan to bring my Navy cutlass. It will do for the staged weapon.

I understand. I'm just hoping to get the Colonel's Wife to attend the banquet in period clothing. She's got a beautiful ball gown that I'd really like to see her in again and maybe get a picture of her in it and me in my dress uniform.

I've had lots of offers for edge weapons. The deal is I don't want to shoot my original trapdoors that weekend and I'm not sure that the brazing job I did on my repro would stand up to multiple bayonet thrusts for all those that don't have an edge weapon. Long story short if you have an edged weapon that you want to use and you don't mind other people borrow bring it.
