I have lost the name of the brand, but Lisa Edelstein, Cuddy off of house is a vegan.  She will not wear leather items, which makes it difficult for costuming to get shoes, especially the style they put her in.  She has her own line of Vegan shoes, the synthetic leather used I hear has a good appearence, doubt it would tool, but should work for plain stuff.

Thanks for all the replies!  I know it is kind of an odd request but with all the answer's I have a lot to look into.  And don't worry. I can take a little kidding.  I mean if we dress up in western clothes and act like cowboys we have to be fun-lovin folk, right?  I have seen Indian print gun cases that look nice and might pull from that idea and make my own.  Thanks for the ideas and good getting to know you folks.

I can only think one set up that would be period and not made of leather is a web belt with a Bridgport rig on it. Don't think it is legal fur SASS though!!???

Try a heavy canvas holster dipped in brown tinted latex. As the latex dries, stamps can be used to even put a stamping pattern and border, if done carefully.
