Did some recconstruction work to keep the deformity to a minimum. Sandy's still complainin' about being sick. She'll take that anesthetic thing to the max knowin' her. As for now, no word on when she comes home. Looks like we got a free evening tonight.

Guardian.UK, in part, dated yesterday.

Parts of south-east England had more than an inch of snow last night while London experienced its first October snowfall in more than 70 years as winter conditions arrived early.

Snow settled on the ground in parts of the capital last night as temperatures dipped below zero. A Met Office spokeswoman said it was London's first October snow since 1934.

For greater south-east of England it was the first October snow since 1974. High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire had 3cm (1.2 inches). One of the coldest temperatures recorded was -4.1C in Benson, Oxfordshire.

"It is unusual to have snow this early," the Met spokeswoman said. "In October 2003 sleet and snow was recorded in Northern Ireland, Wales, south-west, north-west and north-east England and the Midlands, but it was mainly over higher ground."

The Ledger, Lakeland, FL. In part, dated yesterday.

LAKE WALES | A reading of 38 at Lakeland Linder Airport on Wednesday morning was the coldest ever recorded in Polk County in October and marked the first time that the mercury has dropped into the 30s during October. The previous record for the month was 42 degrees on Oct. 21, 1989.

Wednesday's reading easily shattered the record for Oct. 29, which had been 48 degrees set in 1957.
It was the first time temperatures in Lakeland have dropped into the 30s since a reading of 35 on Feb. 28.

Meteorologist John McMichael of the National Weather Service said records could again fall Thursday morning, when the forecast for Lakeland calls for a low of 42.

The record for Oct. 30 was a reading of 46 in 1952.

McMichael said the cold front that pushed through Florida on Tuesday resulted in record low temperatures throughout the state.
A reading of 42 degrees in Tampa broke the record for the date of 44, which had stood since 1910.

A 47 in Fort Myers also broke a record that had stood since 1910, and a 44 in Sarasota broke the record for the date, which had been a 48 recorded in 1977.

In Orlando, a reading of 43 broke the record of 47, which had been set in 1952; a 44 in Melbourne broke the mark of 51, which was set in 1952; and a reading of 46 in Vero Beach broke the mark of 48, which had been set in 1943.

The fat lady has 'Fall Festival' tomorrow it school. They ain't allowed ta say Halloween. She volunteered ta do the vegetable part of vegetable soup. Comes home with 'taters, carrots, celery 'n such. AND onions. She has a late afternoon appointment headin' up ta minor surgery she has ta have next week.

'Can I do anythin' while yer gone?'

'Yeah. Peel 'n cut up the potatoes. Chop up the celery 'n carrots. I'll put the onions in when I get back 'n start ever'thin' simmerin'.'

Fan-friggin'-tastic. I thought I was done with KP fer the day. Now I got werk ta do 'n in a couple hours the house is gonna smell like a sweaty tee-shirt. She boils that pot o'er on that clean cooktop I'm gonna be pissed. I got gun stuff ta do tomorrow.
