Loadin' up this mornin' OT?

no, it'll be tonight before they come get em,  got to get everything ready to roll up equipment today,  try to make sure nothing's in the way to hang up, replace the burned out light bulbs, turn off the water at just the right time so the lines will be drained for cold weather, turn off the feed bins about 2 it takes em about 4 hours to eat the pans clean,  just all the things to get ready for em to move out. ;D

The old-timers 'round here say the more pine needles fall off the more snow we will get.

Slim

If that holds true in Nevada, I'd say judging from the number of needle the pine by our patio has lost, we're in for about 20 feet!!!!! :o :o :o
That or the tree is just goin' bald!! ::) ::)

'Morning, all, from the other end (south) of The Silver State.

All things bein' relative, it's chilly here too this morning.  A cold front passed through night before last, and brought some wind through the morning yesterday, but calmed and cleared last night.  Was down to fifty or maybe less, this morning; it's 54 out front right now (0845), and it feels cold; it's dead calm, not even a wiggle of a leaf on the trees, and a'nuther bluebirdy day.  Consider that as few as three weeks ago, we were still having an occasional daytime high near a hunnert, and o'nite was stayin in the high 70's.  Brrrr.  Now y'all better button up; that cold front is headin' your way, and the things seem to get colder as they cross the country.

As "sign" goes, the Mulberry trees haven't started "snowing" leaves, and the Mocking Birds are still hangin' around the front yard, so any serious change is not in the wind - yet.

Thanks fer the cuppajoe; think I'll go find some trouble to get into.

Later.

The first cold snap is always the hardest. Getting used to the cold weather again after being in the heat all summer.

TLD, Bear is a Pomarainan,  he was the first dog Jackie and I got,  he's almost 12 years old,  he don't make a trip to barns everyday like he used to but he still participates in running outside everyday.   ;D

Plant supervisor came this morning reweighing birds, said they had some come in bigger than they could handle, so they were checking em all,  first bird he picked up weighed 20 pounds but on the average should go in at about 17 pounds.  2 houses go out tonight, 2 tomorrow night,  at least that the plan at the moment :D

almost took a beatin this morning when Jackie and I were walking pickin up dead birds,  found a gross one under a waterer,  wet. slimy and stinky,  picked him up, Jackie sped up trying to get way ahead of me, birds kinda grouped and slowed her down and I caught up with her.  took off my glove on ma free hand,  licked ma fingers good and rubbed em across her neck,  man did I get one of them  "what the Hell" looks,   :o :o :o :o  thought she was gonna beat me before she saw I had ma glove off and had just rubbed her with clean fingers. ;D

keeps her on her toes.   ;D

;D  after 13 years together,  she kinda expects it sometimes,  just the element of surprise is different.

Jackie and I met 13 years ago this week, first time we went out was Halloween night 1995, took her to the Castle in Muskogee to see my son's Band playing.  She was just into Oklahoma from California,  the rest is as they say  "HISTORY".    wouldn't change a thing if I could,  enjoy every minute with her.

Used ta love messin' with the lesser half.

Let air out her tires. She'd complain the car wasn't drivin' as it should. I'd take a 'test drive', without 'er, to the station 'n reinflate 'em. Come back 'n tell 'er it felt fine to me. Next day she'd think it was 'er imagination.

She's always werried 'bout 'er weight. I'd move the driver's seat up a notch. When she caught onto that, I'd move the steerin' wheel. She's wise to both now.

In the cassette tape days, I bought 'er one she wanted only ta find out she bought a copy the same day. I glued hers in the case 'n put it back in the glove box.. When she came home raisin' hell I gave 'er the other copy.

Worst went better than expected. Had me out for dinner 'n we wound up shoppin'. I got zapped on a steel rack – good. Dug a penny out my pocket. Shuffled my feet on the carpet real good 'n touched it in the inside of her left wrist. Ya could hear the POP. Man, if she'd ah caught me with the diamonds on the fist she swung she'd ah ripped my face wide open.

So I'm not the only one what does stuff like that?  I feel better now.

The mind games er fun too.  Had a sticky deadbolt, ya put the key in, an couldn't get it back out.  One day I found a tube of graphite and blew some in the lock while the little lady was getting ready to go somewhere.  Lil comes out ta lock the door and I say "wait a minute" and put ma hand over the thing, close ma eyes and start humming.  Said "try it now".  Lock worked like brand new an she looked at me with the widest eyes I ever saw.  Couldn't keep a straight face though so she knew I was messin with her after a couple of minutes.

LOL, Arcey, Leo. I like to do things like that to my wife, too. We had one of those faucets where you pull the end out and it becomes one of those rinser thingys on a flex line. I slid it back in upside down so it pointed upward. She turned on the faucet and got a bath. She's onto most of my tricks now but I still manage to get one in now and then.

Wonder if she'd notice a wire tie on the rinser thingy holdin' it open.... Hehehehe... Thanks, Will!

This'n was a reallllllllllllllllll hoot.

One of my guys gave me a life sized stand-up cardboard cut out of a stock car driver. I got home 'fore she did 'n put it in bedroom. O'er by the closet so she'd be all the way inside 'fore she'd see it.

She comes home, we talk for a bit 'n she heads for the back. I started ta lose it then but I kept quiet.

Blood curdlin' scream. I lose it so loud she hears me when she stops screamin'. She's white as a ghost, back in the den 'n callin' me e'erthin' 'cept a child of God. When she calmed down, she helped me set it up to get Ali when she came home.

The worst thing I ever did to the Moose was pouring ice water on her while she was takin' a shower. That was probably 25 or 30 years ago but she has never let me forget it.
