Had a new job site startin up.  They found lead in the dirt, so nothin could happen til the stuff was removed.  In the process a backhoe cracked the sidewalk--a section of sidewalk that was ta be removed fer the driveway ta go in.  Inspector says, "ya gotta fix that sidewalk before you can proceed".  I says, "but part of proceedin is rippin the whole dang thing out anyway".
No soap, this guy was out ta flex his city appointed muscles.  So a bunch a guys got paid ta fix it, then watch it get demolished.  Makes ya wanna bang yer head 'ginst the wall.

TLD, too bad you an the rest of the fella's & gals ain't here, we'd run over to Big Jakes and tie on the feed bag.

been a nice day here today, up to 74 for a high, lots of clouds and south winds, still callin for a chance of showers tomorrow.  been out in the shop working on some steel cutouts and running back and forth checking the little birds temps.  that sun coming out and going in makes it tough to maintain a constant temperature.

they weighed the big birds today, averaged 14.5 lbs,  it'll be at least a week before they go out, should weigh 16 pounds or more easy. ;D

Really didn't need that.......

A roast in the crockpot. 'Taters, carrots 'n celery. Took what we wanted then wasn't much left so I took that too. She was heatin' up some that Weight Watchers vegetable soup she made yestiddy. Made the house smell like corned beef 'n cabbage 'n liked at drove me nuts. I ate the good stuff outta it while she weren't in the kitchen. Almost left 'er with squash soup.

First time the pot's been used since last winter. Roast pulled apart with a fork. Damn that was good. I'm stuffed.

Arcey.... I still get a good chuckle when I see that

Me too.  Them was some fun times.

Arcey, I don't use my crock pot nearly as much as I should, but when I do, it is great stuff.  I made a roast a few months ago.  Tas-T!

It's crock pot season!
You got yer chilli, strogenoff, Irish stew an acourse the roasts.  That's how we did the pulled pork on ma birthday.  After all these years Lil still asks "don't we have ta put some water in the bottom?"  No mamn, cooks up fine just like that.

Leo, the next time you do a pork roast in a crock pot try pouring a bottle of Root Beer over it first, then put the lid on it and let it rip. It comes out with a wonderful flavor that is complimented by the BBQ sauce of your choice ;) ;)

I'll try that Maj.  It'd be fun ta do that an make a 7-up cake fer desert :D
The root beer idea sounds great.  It would go well with ma favorite sauce, KC Masterpiece.

Get the big oblong one, 6 quart I think.  You can fit some big stuff in there and have leftovers fer many lunches ta come.
     I love mine.

Tex I'd agree about the oblong crock pot, I use the old one to store and melt my lube. Sort of like a sour dough starter container.

Leo, this is California. It's always crackpot season.

;D

I've always cooked pot roast with beer. The flavor is outstanding. I think San Miguel would even work for that but I wouldn't try it with a large piece just in case it turned into dog food.
