Mornin' pards. Thanks for the cup. Sleep.

I'm off to haul another load of wood. Just in time, too, from the looks of things. It was in the upper 30"s when I got up yesterday and again today. Tomorrow, we're going to ride our bikes to Gonzales at 7am. It's a good thing we bought those electric gloves and jacket liners. ;D We did that a couple years ago and it was 42 and foggy. We bought the heated stuff after we thawed out.

haven't needed any heaters here this morning, up to 70 right now, looking for 80 for a high,  been out in the baby barns hand feeding em,  90 in there.  you can work up a good sweat and not even try.

looks like the big birds will be here an extra week,  fresh season starts next week so they'll try to get these to around 17 pounds to start out with, by A week before Thanksgiving they weight will drop down to around 12 to 13 pounds and they'll be taking em at 11 weeks.  at least that's the way it usuallly works. ;D

Howdy folks.  Thanks fer the cawwfeee, 10zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Weather's great here too.  I'm hopin' to make a shoot tomorrow, if the Trinity in me doesn't show too strongly (read sleepy/lazy ;D).  I'm spending the late afternoon with mother, so I should be back and in bed at a decent time.

Arcey, just remember:  A dollar not saved is a dollar not earned.  I love the gun shows, but wish there would be more presence of cowboy guns.  I'd love to handle some of the newer offerings instead of drooling all over the keyboard while looking at Gunbroker.

Del, I've got a jar of AnnieLee's preserves here that I just hate to open.

Welcome!!

Another lady a-board?  Does that mean that we need to keep the winds to a minimum? :o
As I sit here eating alamo bowl.  (lot's of black beans.  ;D )

The room is done so I'z not longer have to act domesticated.  ;D  The Mrs is so happy she's sent me out to shoot.  :D

I'll pass on the Cawfee as I've had 3 mugs this AM.

If it can't be nice, eaten, make money, create comfort or provide real pleasure.........kill it or trade it in on new one!

I found a Shell station with Regular for $2.99, which is the cheapest I've seen around here. It's still above $3. most places.

Well, here I are for a little bit. It's sunny and 73 here at the moment. Have windows open ;D
Got those bushes trimmed and the hostas cut down. Finally got the PVC pipe I needed to move the spotlight for the flag pole, had to get 1" dia. to fit the stake on the light fixture, and it's actually somewhat small. I replaced the loose pickets on the fence, too . Susie's busy moving furniture around( her passion). Put the drop leaf table back out in the kitchenette so the dining area is now clear for the christmas tree if she decides to put it there. Just waiting for the next thing on the " honey-do" list to come up.........Buck 8) ::)
Almost forgot, gas this morning at a Murphy's by one of our Walmart's is at $2.61 a gallon. It's dropped price four times since yesterday morniing! I believe thr REP said this is the first time it's been down that low since around summer of 2007 in this area..........Buck 8) :o
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Just figgered out what the heck is goin' on, there is rodeo PBR in town today.  (PBR ain't rodeo, they forgot the rest of the rodeo. >:()

You can guess what that draws in. :P

Wish those folks would stay downstairs where the Wrangler PBR shirts and the other stuff like that is, or I'm gonna do it when one tries on a real hat.

"Does this hat make me look dorky?"

Where I want to say, nope, the hat ain't got nuthin' to do with it. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Don't know what the price is here taday.  Aint been out.
Little Guy exercised the "subject ta change" clause and made some real noise fer a while.
I've handled ma share of babies, but this time I couldn't find the trick.  15 year old strolls in ta grab a snack and says, "look it's easy".  Kid was asleep in 30 seconds.  Go figure.  At least now I know what ta do when the Little Guy won't stop fussin after all other needs have been met.

My thoughts for Lil.

Rode the cheapo gas road on the way to the show. Wawa there $2.99. The one 'round the corner $3.17. BJ's Club $2.87.

Hear ya on the shows, Trin. There were a couple vendors hawkin' Cimarron's. A few Uberti, Marlin 'n '92s of various manfacture fer lever guns. A number of old beat up doubles  Prices weren't all that good.

The Glock accessory folks weren't there. Took the 34 apart for nothin'. Did have the chance ta handle some of the plastic stuff the shop I deal with doesn't carry. I'll be stayin' with the Glocks.

Usually there's an ole boy with nice kitchen knives – weren't there.

Don't really know why Georgia Arms bothered to show up. They might have had a third of what they usually have. The folks I usually spend money on for reloadin' stuff was the same way, didn't bring much.

Damned good prices on AR-15 clones. Picked one up just like I like 'em but at $599.99 I don't trust the quaility. Left it there.

A few neat l'il gadgets would have followed me home had the vendors put prices on 'em. Arcey don't buy nothin' without a price displayed. Was lookin' over some old Lyman moulds. Vendor was a l'il too rude so I walked off without seein' 'em all.

Saw one of the NRA Nazis from the club sellin' raffle tickets. Didn't wanna talk much. He don't like me. Wanted ta know if we shot on 'their' range last weekend. Wake up, dummy. We settled that. First Saturdays it ain't 'your' range. It's ours.

All the old WWII stuff ya could want. I didn't want any.

Anyways, left empty handed....

That's been my experience.  No prices and rude sales folks.  I'm the same way.  If they didn't feel the need to mark it, I don't feel the need to buy it.  No need to comment on the rude folks. ::)

Sorry you didn't find anything, but glad you got a chance to go anyway.

... what is the deal with all the WWII (primarily Nazi) memorabilia at gun shows?  That's one reason why the anti gun crowd hates us.  One visit to a gun show and they have every right to think we are all Nazi sympathizers because of the sheer volume of the stuff.

I always have a chuckle at the tables.  There is a ton of the genuine atricle, but also lots of repros. as well as much 1940s era German civil service (read: not military) and other civilian documentation and identifications.  I've never engaged any of the sellers to see if they know what they trying to pass off as militaria is indeed not.

Shows around here have too much of the black gun stuff and military surplus. looks like a Militia show instead. Some have some interesting older stuff, but not in the CAS vein mostly.
Del, remember what I said about not killin' too many ::) :o ;D 8)

Last gun show we went to up at Ft. Smith didn't do much for me,  seemed like more hunting stuff than anything, course it was just before hunting season.
been a nice day here, mid 70's good south wind, lots of sun.
a fella I went to high school with came by to visit, hadn't seen him in the last 15 years but we had kept in touch.  had a good visit, he's just retired from school teaching this last year. he's  just gettin into Cowboy shooting, lives over around Coweta, Oklahoma.

Thankya Arcey, we'll know next week.

Lugers look cool, but I just wouldn't feel right holdin one.  Just offed the Mouser ta the neighbor a couple weeks ago.  I'm happy as a clam with my domestic stuff.  What a snob ::)

A bad day at  gun show is better than a good day at work ;D
