Evenin' pards!

Marshal Will, I'm glad your wife is don' better.  I had a very bad case of stones a few years back.  It turns out it was brought on by the medication I was taking.  I read about it before I agreed to take the stuff, spoke with the doc about it, he said "Bah, those warnings are for the 1% of 1%".  I had stones so frequently that I finally decided to spend the money and visit a urologist.  Told him I was on meds and without asking what they were he said "Bah, that's not the cause".

I told doc #1 that I wanted off the stuff, he said "well, OK, but I still don't think..."  I have only had one stone since. ::)  And people wonder why I don't go to the doc any more than I absolutely have to.  ::)

Shotguns... Arcey, my Stoeger is ticking me off.  I bought it back in '05 (I think) and experienced intermittent misfires from the right tube the very first time I took her out, so  I took it back to the shop where I bought it.  Instead of sending it back to Stoeger, their smith "repaired" it.  Well, I didn't shoot all that much then (still don't now, but more), so six months later I took it shooting and it did fine for a few stages until it started again.  Back to the gun shop.  Again they "fixed" it but never called me.  I finally called a month or two later and was told "oh, it's ready".  I went and the guy gave me two fired shells.  I asked if they had repaired it or just fired two and declared it functional.  He didn't know.  All I know is that they didn't even clean it.  I would just shoot it and re-cock if it didn't fire.  However, now it is getting much worse and three years down the road, I am well out of any warranty window and I am not taking it back to that shop.  I wish they had sent it to Stoeger in the first place.

I have heard from several shooters that many Stoegers had the same problems with the firing pins mushrooming and thus creating friction and slowing down on the way out of it's little cave (don't ask me for correct terms).  Do you have any advice where I could go to get replacement parts that won't fail like Stoeger's?

Knives.  I carry a cheap Chinese Winchester 2.5" lockback with faux stag with my work attire.  For jeans day, I carry a Victorinox.

I think there is one in there somewhere.  I use it mostly because of the little table, microwave and five course meal that folds out of it. ;D

Swiss Army "officer" model was the first knife I ever got.  My buddy had the huge model that wore out the pocket in his jeans on a regular basis.  We both lost our tooth pick and tweeser within a month.

I'll do that, OT. ;D

I've got a leather belt pouch for my big Victorinox.  I can't bring myself to use it unless I'm camping, though. :D

Thinkin' a bad pin or bushin' could be the trouble, Trinman. Could be a hunk of trash floatin' around in there somewhere the 'smith didn't find or didn't try to find. I'd recommend goin' to another shop.

I bought the Coachgun off the consignment shelf at Bob's when I started the game in '97. It's been my primary shotgun the whole time. The Uplander was on Gun Broker. I had evil thoughts for a particular club's shotgun targets. All I've done to either is disable the safeties. Both have always gone BOOM when I pull the triggers.

Arcey, I think the 'smith didn't do a darned thing.  That's why I never took it back.  Well, that and it was two hours away in Charlotte... big shop too. ::)

Thanks for the advice.  I have thought about the debris angle, and have cleaned the heck out of the aperture.  I need to get one of those tools so that I can get to the firing pin.  Then I'll try those SS pins as suggested by the Majer.

I have heard two stories about the Coach gun.  Either love it or hate it.  I have yet to meet someone with ambiguous feelings.  Personally, I like mine... when she shoots. ;D

The cawfee is good this morning, with or without the Bushmills. I don't like this cool weather and neither do the horses. They are a little snaky when you first saddle them and ride off.
