The birds head grips came from VTIgunparts, they are for the Thunderer.  Check the website, and/or call and ask Lisa.

thanks flint,i check the website, and give lisa a call if i need it.how much fitting if any did you have to do to get the grip frame to fit?.

mike ;D

Flint

Not much fitting, they come a hair large, but are OK without shaving them down, usually, the edges aren't uncomfortable.  The problem with fitting to the receiver frame is that you then have to reblue the gripframe sides.  I one one way and the other the other.....

Do you happen to know what part number or all the Uberti Thunderer grips the same?
Thanks

Flint

Been a few days, sorry, I was off to Tombstone for the Bordertown shoot.

The VTI part number for the Thunderer grip frame assembly is 482011/ass.  Price is $172.
The part number for checkered grips is 482011/ass/ck, price is $180.

The Thunderer grip has the saw handle step at the top.

The Birds Head grip, which has a full curve with no bump is 338011/ass, also $172., and checkered is $180.

The part list is a bit confusing as there are so many vasriations of Uberti Colts, and the illustrations all show the plow handle grip.

Don't buy the "Lightning" grip, as that's for the small 32/38 frame.
