Well finally got to shoot the 45-75, what a blast!, nice gun (cimarron) If you havent seen some of my earlier posts, I formed brass from the w348. I did not have any luck with any of the smokless powders that I had around so I loaded them up with 60grns of goex ff and a .030 walters wad and a 350 grn bullet from BA. I will admit the first shot I was nervous but alas all good. The brass formed nice but they did swell a little just ahead of them rim like it says in the lever guns of the west book and they chamber a little tight but they shot good. I put the stock rear sight on the second notch form the highest and that is good to go at 100yrds i pretty much could hit a paint can all day long. Now to trim to final 1.89 and load up to the max I can get in the case and try some paper. Why didn't i discover all this fun when I was younger?
